Well... Taking down esato, will be considered as an act of first degree terror..! Then we must take down al-queda or the CIA or who ever else responsible...

Unless it was to be done using a virus, I cant imagine how anyone could crash the Internet. You would need to shut down every web page server and ISP in the world
and anyways, they would never find a big enough building to fly it into:)

Terrorists can be quite disappointing sometimes. They get us all excited about these catastrophic events of ming-the-merciless proportion, and then....... nothing. Not a peep. Theyre all bark no bite these towel heads, i tell ya.

but isn't that the point in someway... they incite terror... it doesn't have to be real to work but just the thought that the internet might crash, knowing how dependant we (businesses, students, people in general) all are on it, is enough to cause alot of people to worry about their income, business, whether they can contact their friends/partner etc etc etc... with the number of articles I have seen about this today I guess they have succeeded in some small way

@visawhore I have to agree re disappointment ONLY, although today we've blocked more than usual W32/Netsky.q@MM and W32/Bagle.aa@MM virus but I say coincidence!

16.15 here in UK. Still no end of the online world.....
I have to agree with Masseur, often it's the fear of terrorism rather than terrorism itself which does the most damage. If I was an Al-Quieda member I'd just keep deliberately phoning my terrorist mates and saying I was going to blow up the Empire State building so that CIA evesdroppers will have an eppy fit, say that they have 'credible evidence' of an 'imminent attack' and throw the western world into high alert. Thus costing money for extra security, extra hassle for people going about their daily business, and striking fear into people. Job done! Then, on the way home, I'd blow up an Iraqi oil pipe, push up world oil prices, trigger a world recession, and my day as an evil terrorist is complete.
All terrorists need to do is start rumours of things about to happen and watch the ensuing chaos. In order to combat this, we must as best we can, ignore all the bluster, get on with our lives and don't give in to the terrorists or change our habits because of them. If we do, they've won.

As laffen said i another thread, Esato was down due to a DISK TROUBLE. I wonder what he meant! I am a fool when it comes to computers!
