While starting it just says do you wan't to load default file folders instead? I've tried re installation twice :-(

I've re-installed Outlook for the nth time now and to no avail Now it's getting more wierd! The outlook folder hase gone completeley blank! This is driving me crazy

The oringinal message posted indicated your original outlook.pst file has gone walk about, lost for good (if not in recycle bin). The empty one I emailed you (thanks to my girls) would only stop the error messages not bring back any data in your original, missing .pst file. Sync back from the Communicator it'll bring contacts etc back.

In a nutshell without the oringal outlook.pst (or backup) file you're gubbed

So wtf do I get the original PST file from??! And how the hell did it get deleted! Could it be the play of a virus? Can it be downloaded anywhere from the i-net

no idea how it might have been deleted but you will need to create a new one in outlook

just choose file, new, outlook data file and then choose which type of .pst file you want.

that is for outlook 2003 which I am running

its similar on outlook 2002 but you don't have to choose what type of .pst file you want as there is only one type in outlook 2002

thats strange. I just tried it on a colleagues pc with outlook xp and that option was missing on his too but I created a PST file just a few weeks ago on my pc before upgrading to 2003.

even if you click help on office XP and type create pst the first help it gives you is what I suggested.

so, I will read through some microsoft knowledgebase articles and try and find an answer

Yes! Yes! Yes! I've done it Yay!! I just deleted all the dammn profiles and entered the settings freshly again! MS outlook is as good as new Now if I do have problems in syncing I'll catch hold of you guys again
