@energetic: Quite clearly the crappy speakers in mobile phones do not have the range of pitch to kill a mozzy so why bother?

High frequency sounds wont kill a mosquito but will keep it away from the source.
However as far as I know, high frequency sounds can be heard by animals and yesterday when I was trying the software, the sounds didnt seem to bother my dog. Perhaps on a different frequency this may happen. I read somewhere on an article that ultrasonic sounds can repel mosquitos, bats, rats etc which frequency is way to high than the P900 can produce. The ultrasonic sounds can be produced by a special appliance that is plugged into the electrical socket similar to the one that is mentioned before and that why it cannot be heard by humans.
I have my doubts that this software doesnt do what is supposed to do and maybe it will be a waste of money for someone to purchase it.

Maybe it didnt bother your dog because it was making no sound?

P900 speaker has a frequency range of 20Hz to 20KHz. The mosquito net program DOES produce frequencies of 20Hz and 12.3KHz, but claims 50-90KHz also, which is unlikely. However, the programmer may be rather clever, and has perhaps created a beat frequency of 50-90KHz which would be possible with two out-of-phase sine waves. This can be done easily on a P900. If someone wants to check the output on an oscilloscope id be quite interested to hear.
