This software is available here and it is supposed to generate sounds on high frequency in order to scare away mosquitos.

Am just wondering if its possible the P800/P900/P910 to have the capability of producing this high frequency sounds?

Yes i tried it today. Here are the opinions of 3 mosquitos i interviewed.
"I thought there was a dragonfly around, so i flew away in panic!" - Mindy; 28, Mosquito.
"The bat sound is particularly effective, i was convinced there was a big leather winged rodent in hot pursuit! I wasnt hanging around to find out!" -Sebastian; 23, Mosquito.
" The 12.3 kilohertz sound got me horny! I was certain i was in luck, as there was a male mosquito ready to mate in the vacinity. Imagine how perplexed i was when i realised the sound was coming from a big silver box! It sure ruined my evening!" Roz; 18, Mosquito. [addsig]

It seems like yet another topic will go down the drain and end up into the garbage area, but still there is time to save the thread.

I have tried as well, the software and can here the sound from my P900 but am not sure that this sound is actually a high frequency sound. I still have my doubts that the P900 maybe not producing these frequences... unless someone can prove me wrong. So it would be nice to get an answer to this question, not only for my self but for the rest Esatorians.

@energetic: Quite clearly the crappy speakers in mobile phones do not have the range of pitch to kill a mozzy so why bother?

Theyre certainly capable of 20hz and 12.3khz, which is mosquito-repellant. As for 50-90khz, i doubt it. Normally a special ultrasonic transducer is required for that. [addsig]

@meths don't use the word crappy in the same sentence as mobile phone! You'll only get @a_p_a_n_k_y on his high horse
It's a phone not a getto blaster!

I tried something simular on a 6600 and there was no actual sound coming from the speaker.... But the vibration motor was goin crazy... Could this be where the high pitch frequencies are comin from?

The mozzy things you can get off of QVC plug into a wall socket, emit no noise we can hear, and have a massively high pitch. You need specially designed equipment to produce the noise, and mobiles ain't it!
