I'm in Gossops Green, right next door! Did you get your K700 f/w flashed in Brighton then or is it still on the original f/w?

No - after leaving the phone with them all day - the only thing they could do was get it back to the original R2A software. I still have the "bugs" and issues that I had before. i will take it to the O2 shop Western road - Brighton this Saturday and let them fix it.

Seriously though - i have waited to get this phone for months - its pretty cool even with the "bugs" - i guess if you want something brand new you have to put up with software problems! :-|

I found a Carphone Warehouse Service Centre near where I work and they can do firmware upgrades for me. If the O2 shops do it was well while-u-wait I will try them as well.

Just called the 02 shop in Brighton and they said they can't do firmware upgrades. So I guess it will have to be either CPW or that SE service centre in Reigate Road.

BTW, did people here say you will lose all our exisiting contacts info & themes after the upgrade or will the info stay there?

Edwin - I can't say if you lose your contacts after the upgrade. I do know that my contacts / messages and "most" of my photos were there when the firmware was reinstated - might be a good bet to back up everything you can though.

My phone has now been handed over to O2 Brighton - up to two weeks away! groan!

Nothing is going to happen after you flash the phone, the only thing it changes are the configurations: day, time, shortcuts...

Ok, back from Cellular and Audio Services in Brighton. Left the phone there for a couple of hours whilst I went into the town centre for some shopping and lunch. Found the guy there and the lady to be courteous. My K700i came back working and was upgraded from R2A to R2L001 firmware!

Not problems so far. Exact details are:

ITP SW version

I got my K700 from mobileshop.com originally and when it starts up there is a Sony Ericsson Logo and no O2 logo (even though I have an 02 contract)? I think you said your phone did have an O2 logo? Maybe they had customised the firmware a bit?

Anyway I'll see how things go re battery life etc and report back l8r!

BTW, I didn't lose any information except for my shortcuts which were all erased. All other information (themes etc) was kept on the phone.

A report will be forthcoming next week on any issues.

Hello Can anyone tell if your K700 is O2 Branded?

When I start/off my phone it displays a SE Logo then O2 Welcome/Goodbye screen..

Also it has o2 ICONS....

Heared some postings why K700 O2 model cant be upgraded to R2L? What actions can we do? Are they shortchanging us?

Can we sue SE or O2???
