I am having the same problem with my K750i. It does exactly the same thing.
I did 3 flashes on the phone, upgrade the software with SEUS but I have the same problem . This problem is not related to the software I think
I found that if I put in a T-mobile SIM (bought in USA) it searches for T-mobile network and of course won't find it (since I'm in Europe) and than it won't reboot. On the screen appears INACTIVE SIM, I am able to see 5 bars of signal and I can do everything with the phone (listen radio, play games , play MP3 files, everything except making calls.
My opinion is:
Version 1: the phones with this problem reboots shortly after connects to the network according to SIM. The network somehow soft reset the phone. Try putting in the SIM in an area that have no signal and I think the phone won't reboot.
Version 2: The phone you have is stolen and network checks your IMEI, compare it to a database and reboots your phone.
Version 3: you have a faulty radio transmitter on the phone. As soon the phone finds the network radio transmitter work at full capacity and being faulty will reset the phone. This explains why it won't reboot without a SIM or with a SIM that belongs to a network not present in your area.
CAN you try see if you can shut off your phone from your power button while it is still on before it finds the network? I tried on mine and I can turn it off but it will restart a second later and only a battery pop will stop it.
ANY NEW IDEAS????
Come on guys, We need a guru to solve our problem......
