Oh I envy you guys ! Me? I brought my k700i in Semicon podium sunday after 2 hrs. they could not upgrade it! They sent it to main branch (along marcos hwy) and up to now (wednesday) they still haven't upgraded it! I'm already contemplating on pulling out my unit w/c was working finewhen I gave it ot them with stock firmware (r2a051 I think)..WTF!!! I'll probably sue them if they f**ked up the phone instead of upgrading it.

Had my unit upgraded to R2L from R2E at S.E.S.S. in libis. They did it in 40 min. Can't say that it improved my phone though. My main complaint on the K700i is the battery. After upgrading to R2L, battery life hasn't improved much. It averages 8-10 hrs before the battery low warning appears. If I neglect the alarm, after around 20-30 min. the phone turns off. So now I always carry a spare battery. The K700i is really a great phone but the battery sucks. Unlike my 7250 before which lasts 3 days before needing to recharge. |

hmmm... mine had some improvements on battery as well (aside from the other stuffs ive mentioned in my previous post). before it only lasts for around 6 to 8 hours but now i could use it for 24 hours. the first time i got it i charged the phone for a full 12 hours (phone turned off) then i drained it. i did this 3 times. i dont know... i just read in some post here in esato that after doing this their battery life got better so i tried my luck. now its better. |

@dunkin, thn for the reply. My problem is that the fone was'nt bought in semicon I bought it in goldcrest (glorietta). All I want was an upgrade but now I havent had a phone for 4 days now and its killing me! . I wont go back to semicon again for repairs/upgrade
I hope they would just replace my fone with r2l in it.

Instead of going to SESS or Semicon, what I did was to do it through on-line in SE's Update Service web site.
I borrowed a friend's DSS-25 from her P900 and followed the web site's instructions.
From R2E to R2L, there are marked improvements, in the performance. Battery life seems the same, though. Tennis games run faster, web browsing seem quicker, too. |

@alternateve
most likely, you wouldn't.
take samcuesta's advise. upgrade it yourself to the latest firmware version. |
