A mini nuclear station? Can you imagine what would happen if Nokia used this? It would be the end of civilisation as we know it..... KaBOOM!

we all dream of the future. but we know very well that it could've already been here. if nokia wasn't market leader and ericsson was, then we would have are house full of bluetooth stuff.

so the future. well i'm guessing 2008 for technology in high end (high priced like Pxxx and lower priced like K700 phones).

what we will have.
full 3G options. heavy battery (still poly lion) A-GPS, long range bluetooth 2.0 , 3D sound, 262k screens standard, 3MP cams with optical and digital zoom, 5Giga harddrive, and alot more software stuff.

4G will take much more time sadly. if 3G isn't fully integrated in the market 4G will stay away. so we'll have to wait for 3D screen (in the computer world 3D screens are also on the future list) faster speed, 1generation of alcohol batteries, full voice activation phone controle and much more

so thats abit the future in short words. as you can see it will take alot of time. unless we find a way to boost the market. i know most of us are being the high advanced phones when they come out. but most people buy low end phones, we need to convince them to look at the mid and high end phones 2. they offer much more and you stay up to date with them longer then with a low end phone. (also don't advize an SE phone made by arima, there not high tech). also accesoires should get a boost. bluetooth headsets are doing well amoung early adapters and business people, but the comon man doens't know about it. special accesoires like the MMV-100, the CAR-100 and ... should be bought by all of us so bluetooth sales our up, and the manufactures will try more dairing products.

in other words: buy buy

My ultimate “personal device” will have,
Multi network choice GSM, GPRS, VOIP, 3G or better, plus “blue phone” and WiFi capability (network selection would be based upon automatic least cost call routing selection or in flight mode pure WiFi selectivity) Plus push to speak facility.

Large TFT Touch Screen Plus A “Vapour Screen” display with
Laser projection (already developed in Finland!) I am assured that with multi layered versions will mean you will be able to have a kind of 3D viewing! great for gaming and when making video calls but this is still a way off due to turbulence issues.

Laser virtual Keyboard (already available!) 1Gig on board memory with external card facility + automatic network drive storage facility via 3g networking.

LCD Touch pad input with multi function display choose Keypad or Querty
Real hand writing recognition
Voice Input / control systems for all phone and PDA functions

3 Gig processor
Long life fuel cell power with solar backup feature
Permanent Bluetooth connectivity allowing for magicword and music player facilitys with fuel cell powered headsets.
Full office suite and PC synchronizing plus automatic network sync with your web based PDA facility via 3g.
Full remote access facility to your office PC.
Dual camera 8 mega pixl digital imaging system with LED Flash / Movie light for still and moving images with sound files for both! the device will retain files up to its maximum capacity when the device is full it will archive older files off to your web based storage PDA facility via 3g networking (Fully functioned web based PDA services will eventually be supplied by the networks as part of their VOIP / 3G packages, probably for business customers first but we will get them soon)

Satellite TV Decoding facility for full channel TV viewing
Weather station facility
High output LED Torch
Video Phone (of course!)
Full speed gaming facility using vapour display screen
Plus all the features we have come to regard as standard on SE handsets!!!!!

Wishful thinking? No, we will be buying such devices within 5 years the technology already exists, it just needs application.

nitro fan thats a nice dream. i know most of that technology is already out there. but what about the price? market demand?

bluetooth goes back al long time. and we still see it only in high end phones. it just takes to long for technology to come to the market. and its extremly sad

and the change that a technology succeeds isn't alway there. remember wap? it failed. now we are seeing that more and more people are intrested in wap and GPRS but there's still al long way to go sadly.

I wonder how long before some wag comes on and says something like 'I want a phone that that sends and receives calls/texts'!

Some nice ideas here, though!

Japan is usually a couple of years ahead of the rest of the world and over there at the moment TV content is available on mobiles. Downloading content will also be faster.
