Got my new 6230 today |

Hello I have a t610 and t630 and I must say I was disapointed that you cannot really customise the phone like adding your own custom sms tone and all. I have a friend who aslo switched to the Nokia 6230 and I was very impressed and jealous as for a little more than the se t630 he has a memory slot and can use wav ringtones to trick out his phone the software seems stable and the phone is well built. I am glad you wrote your post as I have been having the same thoughts about getting that phone. I like the k700 though but Nokia has so much content out there. So I will keep my set630 but may sell the t610.

Hmmm. I have heard a 6230 and a 6220 and the Ringtone quality is typicall nokia s40. Loud but with not many details and sometimes you can hear the speaker cracking. Also the building quality is typicall nokia. The shoe looks good outside but when you hold it in your hand and squeeze it it makes loud cracking sounds. Also the screen is not so good. It cant be compared to a T630, t610 z600. As for k700 the distance is great. Sorry but this is the truth.

Well now, I have had a 6230 from day 1 about 5 months now and yeah its the best nokia I have used, I would of said its the best mobile too,
Till I got my SE K700i and guess wot I dont even use the 6230 any more its just crap oh sure the 6230 has mem card thats only 1 thing over the se k700i ie..
no 2x or 4x zoom
no zoom on the video
only 4 mins of video
my list can go on and on and on

So you buy a Nokia 6230 becouse of its cheap crap MMC. NOT SMART.
Are you aware that MMC is useless in your Nokia 6230?......becouse who want to listen to poor MP3.And yes it's known that MMC sticks often corrupt.
You want store poor VGA photo's and limit poor video and store in your MMC,very nice to store poor quality movie's in your MMC.
What else is the MMC stick good for you Nokia 6230? |

That's a great improvement for Nokia owners. I remember it being a pain waiting 7-10 days just to have the software updated. |

i let the battery drain first, it was at 1 bar and it took a whole day to go down after playing with it,
and im recharging it for 5 hours for optimum battery life, i trust it will last me a long time.
it's a great phone, iv uploaded mp3's to the memory chip, i wil buy 128 later on at some point,
its a rock solid phone, |

and my mp3's r playing excellently, its loud and i can plug in the earphones or the bluetooth to listen 2 them |

first of all, lets get this straight
this is not a war between k700i and 6230,
both have similar features,
yes u can zoom in after you take a pic in 6230, zoom in is a crap feature on both fones i use infrared and bluetooth to transfer pics, so thats not a big deal,
mp3 quality is high it has a built in equilizer, and another thing, k700i has slight cackling too, same with the nokia, the cackling is the way the fone has been built, when you play music on ur computer, slide the volume really high and you will hear cackling,
and it plays fine using the bluetooth headset or the earphones.
the phone is excellent, the screen quality is amazing, if not better than k700i, sorry SE, it might be smaller but its more sharper to me.
i know you guys hate nokia, i hate them too, but this is probably theire best phone since 3330 and 8310,
k700i has the thing u stick in the tv,
6230 has the memory chips, and THEY DO NOT CORRUPT
they wil only corrupt if you corrupt it intentionally,
its like saying microsoft windows xp is crap and linux redhat 9 is better, but in this case redhat = sony ericsson k700i and microsoft = 6230
well sorry guys, xp is the best operating system that has worked for me, im not saying linux is bad, but xp works for me and i am happy with it, although i do use linux once in a while, but not for what i use xp for,
same with 6230, it also has options for creating sms folders, email, etc.
it is a rock solid phone |

The phone is excellent, much faster than sony ericsson slow phones, no offence, but nokia have always been fast, it comes with on board 8mb memory, and you can buy mmc memory chips, up to 256mb i think,
the screen is high quality, i will say this again, the phone is light, not heavy, not bulky,
sorry sony ericsson, until you guys make a new phone with memory chip, and small and light (not s700 orp900 crap) i dont want apda, i wunt a phone, with pda features all in one, i have that now (6230)
i would highly recomend this phone to anyone, make sure the firmware is the latest, |

Fair enough someone likes one phone over another, and yes, they might be similar, and yes, one may have a memory card but the other one doesnt.. but why do people feel the need to put derogatory comments down?! |

lol thats funny we all know Xp = is crap and crashes all the time says it all for Nokia then as I have a 6230 and its shit next to my k700i and no the k700i is not heavy phone very light also it has a 10 x better screen to boot also the cam pics come out way better then the 6230 i know as i have em both but hay the 6230 is a gud fone if u like shit |

the games on an SE phone are "slightly" better than nokia, as SE supports mophun but the fact is PHONE GAMES SUCK, they r slow, crap, and very very limited, in fact i never play fone games becuz they r so crap,
the basic java game is crap too, for long journeys its simply a drain of battery power, |
