Try living in a country where most phones are limited to one network! If you want a SE phone here in Canada, chances are you'll be dealing with Fido (an operator) and so on and so forth...So if there's only that situation between Vodafone and Sharp, you should all feel so lucky lol

Ive tried the phone. Nice screen, nice camera quality.. but thats where the nice bit ends.
Terrible interface, terrible MP3 support, terrible keypad (i hate those soft buttons), and im not sure how much it weighs exactly, but it seemed really heavy when i tried one out. Its also HUGE!
But the worst crime for me, is the complete idiotic Bluetooth implementation, its absolutely useless. It wouldnt even pair with either of my headsets !
I dont even need to mention Vodaphone..

I've owned both the gx10 and gx20 and yes, letting vodafone buy the rights (or whatever they did) does leave them a bit stuck.
You can un-lock Sharp handsets without any software or extra hardware so you can use them on different networks.
I found the interface(vodafone live) very easy to use.
Was going to get one but I'll live with my p900 phone for now.
Congrats kbloom!
How's the phone? My mate wants to buy one.

I tried the phone out for a few days. Lacks a lot of things. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Get something from the mpx series. |

Dont get me wrong its not a bad phone for 'joe average' but for people who expect more from their phone, such as SE phone owners the Sharp phones are really sub-par.

Sharps deal with Vodafone has seen their sales skyrocket. Who had a sharp phone before the GX10? With Vodafones marketing power ( and Beckham ) behind it, the GX10 sold far more than it would have normally. Good move by Sharp if you ask me =)
Played with a GX30 the other day, that screen is absolutely incredible, it won't rule for long though (like always..). =) |

The big ideea is that the thing is vitrrually "incomunicado" with all the other handsets and devices.U can't send pics, tones thru irda or bluetooth, u can't pair it with a bt headset, u can't, u can't, u can't do all the things u need to constantly refresh ur phones content.I won't buy 1 even with a 3mb camera...it doesn't worth the bother and the hassle.

Sure! i'll try and do that later on... but I'll need to watch the england match tho! lol. Yup. the phone's amazing, i know you people are going on about the vodafone side of things but the actual mobile itself is a real quality handset, if i do say so myself!
The camera is the best I've ever seen with it being the first mega pixel for the UK, and the sounds and tones are excellent! Games are also quite good and there's plenty great stuff to download from the vodafone wap site. I think that's definetley a BIG advantage of it being that network... as they've made everything one their site specialised for the sharps!!! Over 2'000 downloads!!!
Um... what else? Not tried the MP3 yet but I'll try keep ya updated! Also, in real life, although the handset is quite big (but so is the P900 if u think about it that way) because of all the features and better camera than the 20, but doesn't feel heavy in your hand. It's really nice to hold. lol. that sounds so stupid!! but anyways it is. quite well balanced!
