a process engineer and a chemical engineer are more or less the same thing, but the job title varies depending on the country and/or industry you are in. i work for an engineering design and contracting company in Australia. we mainly work on the design and construction for the oil and gas industry, and several general and specialty chemical industries.

@gelfen - MY . . . . if you are working here in Manila, you will surely be raking thousands of US Dollars in your payslip my friend. . . Specially when connected with government projects! Good luck with your work mate, may you discover some pipelines down underground even under big oceans, maybe one in the Middle East ??? |

well, there's an aussie engineering company who has partnered with a US firm to start rebuilding in Iraq (bridges, oil refineries, and so forth) but they can't get anyone to go - even with 125% uplift i.e. current salary x 2.25. coupled with the other recent terrorist incidents in that region, it's a might too dangerous over there just now.

Suffice to say that I've crossed Iraq off my 'potential holiday destinations' list!

@jojo - Glad you like the T-shirt!
@Gelfen - just to rub it in, it's been about 25C today, and been even hotter the last couple of days! Lots of sun, which is unusual for the UK.
Hey, we're only about 3 post off this thread becoming a 'flaming' one!

oooh quick add a few more then!
@sammy: well, you could do with some sun over there
i actually don't mind melbourne winters too much since it is rarely seriously cold. i personally don't like the heat (could be psycho-sematic from my years working as a pool lifeguard! )
