The phone is good mate, for the casual user its the best out there, does everything well.

Only thing that it doesn't have menu wise that SE has is music dj. But the composer on it is apparently v.powerfull, just more difficult to use.

sharp is ahead of the game in terms of basic functions paked with features.

the gx30/32 is loaded with everything the average person would want.. and it's quad band.

better than any current phone out there in gsm i'd have to say yes. (not including pda phones etc etc)

the menu is decent similar to the SE interface. but very expensive and the price doesn't seem to drop like other phones.

i can't wait to ge one...

In the Uk the GX30 sim free is down to £319.99. On a Vodafone contract direct the price has just dropped to £30 on a 400 minute talkplan, but you can also get it from many websites for free, I did

I think that they have done this to bring its price more in line with the other manufacturers handsets, more of a price for the mass market

it really is a nice looking phone and easily one of the best mid range phones out there and i do agree se has nothing to compete with it at present
a few people have mentioned what i would call the down side and that been i dont want to be on vodaphone and i dont buy sim free as i find phones cheaper on contracts
also 1 phone doesnt make a good company but its a big step in the right direction
i have played with a gx20 and that was a great phone and easy to use and i use a t610 and 6310 and found no problems with menus etc
someone mentioned about service all i would say on that as i dont know what sharp are like is
yes se after service in terms of firmware upgrades is very good but if the product is right out of the box you shouldnt need them
lets be honest the speed of sms and menus should be right from the start you should nt need to go to a service centre to get an upgrade for the basics

It's a good phone but it's not a good deal.I'd rather wait for the S700, which i do in fact.
And u say sharp is better in the TITLE! And it's not true, Sharp is a midget comparing to

I sold my T610 to a Maldivian room boy, for a £150. As soon as I got back off holiday, they release the GX30, which I snapped up on an upgrade for £115. The truth is the only reason to have a GX30 is the camera, it surpasses anything on the mobile market in England at the moment. It really did take me back...........BUT the phone has major flaws that anyone who has owned and used a T610 or T68 will whinge about....and I am whinging alot. Text speed is good but it can't keep up with my speed, for example when I type 'just' it comes out as 'juv', now this may not seem such a pain but once it's happened 50 times, you soon start wanting to throw the camera elsewhere. Also why have bluetooth when the only reason it's there is to connect to a headset, this phone WILL NOT connect to a PC, therefore having to buy a data cable.....which isn't out yet. Once you've owned a phone as versatile as a T610 eg. themes, shortcuts, a decent calender, you find it very difficult, in my opinion downgrading. I am seriously considering getting the K700 just to relive my theme making days!! The only thing stopping me is that damn camera....it is awesome.

Couldnl't agree more, what's the point in releasing the phone if its not 100 %.

I have had the GX10, GX20 and now the 30 (obviously) never had one crash, slow down etc. Perfect right from the word go.

Sharp mobile UK have great support through Vodafone and a very helpful customer service centre themselves too, called them reference accessories, they called me back, gave me all the info I needed etc.

Agreed, Sharp are still establishing thereselves in europe, but in the far east (biggest mobile market) they are heavy hitters.

Just search the web for some of the phones they have over there, v.impressive. (I will try and find some links too).

Also battery life on the GX30 is better that the GX20, will last at least a couple of days between charges with average usage.

Bet if you put a GX30 on ebay you would have no problem selling it for top dollar mate!!!

And Sharp are not midgets compared to Sony Ericsson, but that wasn't the point in the first place. The GX30 is better than anything SE has out at the momemnt, nothing will rival the handset for at least 6 months from SE.

By then Sharp will no doubt be close to releasing yet another handset, again well ahead of its time.

The Nokia 8310 was voted best phone across europe too a few years ago, does that make it comparable to the T610 then?
