I read from somewhere that 2005 will be the year BT chips would be cheap enough to put in any gadget or device you want to network.

I tried Tennis with BT. My friend and I have the same handset, T39m. It was a good laugh. But at the moment playing games is the only use I have for it.

BT will encounter problems, mainly ate to telecom operators. What he in the streets we will have shops with it?No more gprs for surfing, advertising made by bluetooth, surfing the internet for free, connecting to the office wireless but without operators making money out of it...They have to solve all of this to make this tech successful, and in beyond mere gaming.

Well 2005 seems a bit far and to pay for it at such a steep price rightaway seems too far fetched for me. Somehow I guess those who buy the product are guinea pigs who test the technology - and they pay to be guinea pigs!! |

BT accessories are getting cheaper. MediaMarkt in DE sells a set of two Acer USB Bluettoth Adapters for EUR 99.00 — quite a good price, imho.
For those who speak German, there is a test on this page: http://makeashorterlink.com/?V5FF23101 — and a long thread thread at handykult.de, http://makeashorterlink.com/?P21012201 — scrolling down the page you'll also find photographs.

I can not see how bluetooth could make a network redundant as a> You have to pair up which is the point to keep it secure and b> it is prone to interference inherent to the spectrum. Micro cell gprs is a much more viable option for this type of free consumer surfing and then of course that relies on one having the settings in the phone. No i think 802.11 is most likely going to steal this area. It already has. BT IS good now i have 5 items running it and it has made my life less cluttered already and works.
