Even though has stopped prouducing the P800 ther is still brand new P800 out there for sale. These retail for much less than the P900 does.

OK, picture this:
I am buying a new phone.
The choice of needs justyfies me purchasing a P900.
BUT... There is an option to get this done cheaper, ie saving money
I buy a P800 with an "upgrade kit" off course! First of all the P800 is cheaper and the "upgrade kit" is not that expensive so I'll do that. If I like the P800 with the "upgrade kit" I'll go buy the P900 later.

NO WAY!

That is just not the way it works guys.

Why is this nonsense still on the go? I have absolutely no sympathy for moaners e.g. "l spent a lot of money on one of your products, now you owe me!"
SE are not a charity, if they were to continue developing for the P800 why would people bother with the more expensive P900? The very same thing will happen in due course with the P900.
There is a terrible culture of moaning and self-pity regarding this issue. lf people are unhappy with SE then don't use their products, simple as that. SE do not owe any of us anything, why some people seem to think that purchasing a P800 entitles them to a discount or continued development for years after thein product is obsolete escapes me.
Perhaps instead of bleating on about what a cruel and terrible world it is, moaning types should perhaps enjoy their P800s, which are corkingly good phones. Huzzah to that!

How many time do I have to post this:

THAT'S A P900 IN A P800 CASING!!

Here's a website that shows how it can be done:
http://www.mobile.my-life.net/topicdetail.php?f=173&t=4732

Another thing is:

If you look at one of the videos, you can see that before Switchbitch turns on that phone, the screen is complete BLACK.

If you owned a P800 before, you know P800's screen is BEIGE/SILVER colored when it's turned off, because it uses a transreflexive LCD. A real P900 uses TFT LCD.

Stop being so gullible guys! There's no such thing as free lunch in this world! When are you gonna learn that?!

There are two separate things going on here:

(1) The _technical_ question whether it is possible to upload P900 firmware to a P800. (Subquestion: whether those people who state they actually did it are lying or not.)

(2) The _business_ or _moral_ or _psychological_ question whether SE is "obliged" to provide more care (e. g. upgrades) towards the buyers of their older models. (Subquestion: whether those people who say yes need medication or not.)

I think it's better not to mix up these two separate topics.

@All

I hate to say it but Switchblade, and Energetic did not update their phones. I tried to perform the magic upgrade with no less then three P800's using CDA 162003/5 and every single time I received and error saying that there is a communication error. One P800 and I can say maybe, two, and I can say there might be a problem. Three and I say that Energetic and Switchblade have been sending PM's to each other to continue the charade.

Summary. Not possible. Second, to those who bought a P800 and want a P900. BUY ONE and stop complaining. SE nor Nokia, nor any other company willl simply give you a new phone because they came out with a new model. If you feel that you have been cheated, then file a class action suit. I am sure there are plenty of lawyers out there that will be happy to take you money and launch a suit against SE. Maybe they can be shamed into giving in.

bugger me, I stay off the forum for a few days and come back to this! WTF is going on?

It *is* laughable tho' ain't it? Surely those of you with P8's (of which I am one) would have given up this pathetic tirade by now.

That is my last post on this poxy thread and any other thread that is similar in vein.
