Is the MMS software officially available in the UK now? Will it be done free or does it cost?

As I said that I work for 02 9 out of 10 times customer serv dont know, so they would say no to what ever you ask them. Also about promoting MMS we still have not Promoted out new network so far.
But from what I have been told end of may to early June we should have it on the 02 network.

Not sure about this one but i have been following a thread in another group and they have a link to a web site that supports MMS

http://www.mi4e.com./

When you go to the site you can register for a MMS account for your phone that seems not to need SP support? Not sure how it works but have registered myself and as soon as they activate the account will see if it works.

Happy messaging

Considering we're charged a fortune for TXT alerts (at least double a standard SMS) MMS will be expensive. Especially MMS alerts like football scores.

So I guess maybe up to 50p to send and £1 to recieve football alerts???

But u never know they might have a free spell to promote MMS then hike up the charges when we all use it.

If you read some of the other posts from people in Europe who can already use MMS they are saying that its free to start with then up to 10 times the cost of SMS which means most likely will only get used of adverts and special occasions. Its a shame becuase i thought MMS was supposed to give us a taste of G3.

Oh well

Yeah if its gonna cost shedloads more than normal txt msgs, then itll bomb after a while. The advantages with it is that you can send pictures, files etc etc. So if I was to use it, itll be only for a good reason, dependin on the cost of sending one.

Itll certainly be good to have and well, we'll all have to wait and see what happens cost wise with it.

Hopefully they will have like a free period to send and receive these MMS msgs. Like in Europe, like a promotion.

For all those interested my friend has just been down to Warrington SC to get his T68 upgraded. Having spoken to them on the phone and being told he could have the MMS upgrade when he got there in person they said not he could not have it. After causeing a fuss they did admit that they have the upgrade but are not allowed to install it yet. When he asked when it would be they said at the moment they have no idea.

Bloody f0r you.

Bloody SE indeed!

They're not winning the PR war with this one. If they have the upgrade why on earth are they not allowed to install it?!?

From messing around with the T68i which i bought last week it looks as if it connects through wap and then onto the IP address of a MMS server to send through?

does anyone know if that is the case or is it just how it looks like - then by using GPRS it would work out about the same as a text/maybe slightly more??? Though i have no idea what amount of data is transfered - Its really pissed me off got the communicam and 02 don't even support pop3 email via GPRS according to there Business Data Help Desk.

Anyone confirm or deny any of this??

Paul
