For the T610? In a word, no!

There are a number of would-be hackers who insist that you can buy the correct cable and download the firmware from certain (presumably) dodgy sites but it really isn't advisable.

SE do not release the firmware updates for T610 online because they insist that, for whatever reasons, you must update firmware at a registered SE center. Being sensible about it, this is probably because the T610 does not have the facility for easy (online) upgrades (unlike the P800/900) and as such it is rather dodgy to try and do it yourself.

I don't mean any disrepect to anyone here but I really can't understand people's fascination with upgrading their phones themselves? If you take the phone to a shop, sure, you might get charged a small amount for it but if the shop messes everything up, and your phone dies, you get a brand new phone!

If you upgrade it yourself and it goes wrong, you've had it! It's all your own fault, and you end up having to buy yourself a new phone! For god's sake people, let a third party upgrade your phone! Then if it goes wrong, it's their fault, not yours

Afterall the java in z1010 is much bether then java in t610 so that proves that is not only mophun phones.

Other phones (e.g. T310) do not support Java. Only mophun.
Z1010 is not available. Java on T610 runs very poorly, so even if Z1010 supports Java, I assume it's not quite a challenge to make it work much better.

Still, engineers are not stupid, so I really can't believe they can make this Java support so bad without any fishy thing behind it. And this certainly is to promote Mophun.
Yet, Java apps are far more popular and wide spread than Mophun ones, so have to give in. (not give up Mophun, but make their Java support proper)

z1010 is avilavable.

z1010 released

It does have bether java then t610, Check out this links.

MIDP 2.0 and Other API Support in the Sony Ericsson P900 and Z1010

Product Feature: The Sony Ericsson Z1010 - A 3G phone supporting MIDP 2.0

Mophun is not listed in the future list for z1010 even the java is on the list. So you can just imagine what is doing with mophun.

I live in Macedonia. We do not have Official SE Dealer or Service. I update my firmware in one of many GSM Services. They have the hardware for flashing the phone. I did that once because I want my Vodafone icons off my phone and now everything is fine exept that they upload the old firmware. They are good with phones but bad with latest updates. That's why I'm looking for the last firmpare on internet

Best regards,
