Sorry maybe my profile is not very accurate.
I'm Portuguese and living in Portugal, so...

So, it's a no go for the nearest magazine shop. [addsig]

No need to do that mate!
Just post a rough comparison from Centrino 1.6 and P4M 3.2 or any other processors near these clock rates.

Thanks batesie. [addsig]

Sorry havent had time to check what Custom PC mag's results were of the processor supertest, but i'll be doing it over the weekend.
I know the top one for performance against value for money was the AMD Athlon 64 3000, but i'll check the mobile ones out for you. [addsig]

when it comes to mobile , intels dothan is a superb chip , good performance (better than a mainstream p4 prescott), runs cool , requires low power , 2mb l2 cache and recently by the launch of sonamo platform for mobile pentiums , fsb is now 533mhz (for newer chips) , supports ddr2 , pci-express , newer power conservation methods etc . it offers the best value for money atm .

Autonomy is not much of an issue for me.
When using a laptop i'm always near a plug.

Not like i'm going to the beach with my laptop or to a garden...

Well, the value for money is a very flexible thing.
What's valuable for me could be unvaluable for you and vice-versa.

I just a click away of getting an Acer with P4 3.2Ghz instead of an Acer 1.6Ghz Centrino (The rest of the system is the same).

If you can show me a review where the THIS Centrino beats the THIS P4, then i'll move away my finger from the mouse.
