In Cebit Turkey, a Nokia-worker (the head of Nokia-Turkey or sth. like that) confessed that "they only mind the the sms'ing and talking part of the communication and put the other things such as IR, MMS, Java, Poly-melodies, etc. because they are in most of the new phones from other manufacturers"...
Now that I've heard that statement, there is no more Nokia for me... I don't know if I should be or ...

But they still put the "other things" there? Whats the problem? So every other manufacturer puts these other things in their phones just because of their nobelty and kindness? Not slightly because it's what the market demands?
Now that I've heard that statement, I will not take any statement by Nokia Turkey seriously.

That's funny (actually it's bullshit), I only remember Nokia saying something like "video conference might not work in the early stages of 3G". Do you HONESTLY think they don't believe in such an important aspect of 3G as video call? And never include it in their phones? And watch while others do? The special thing about Nokia is that they never cancel any phones they announce. Or delay them. Even if I try, I can't see Nokia losing anything to other companies in what comes to 3G video call phones. They aren't stupid.

3g isnt just video conferencing. I admit it is the main selling point. But data transfer speeds is the best part. People will want a high speed phone but maybe not video. Umts is a faster network. This makes video etc possible

Actually it's true... Nokia said video conferencing is not a subject for todays 3G-customers in a reply to a report that wonder why the 7600 wasn't enabled for video conferencing. I think it was the head of mobile phone operations here in Scandinavia that said so in the release conference - wonder if the name Sara Kullgren ring some bells?
And just a short reply on your "statement": "video conference might not work in the early stages of 3G"."
- Here in Sweden 3 is up and running it's 3G network WITH video conferencing, i've seen it works quite well actually...

Doesn't ring any bells. Still believe they will make phones with video conference feature and won't be any late. |

y do ppl buy nokias?
I'll tell u y!
how many ppl do u know actually know what Bluetooth is??
how many of those ppl can set up a GPRS account by themselves?
how many ppl that u know actually know what GPRS is!!
sadly, the answer for a lot of ppl wld be "not many" or "none"
besides us tech-phreaks the average person wants color, looks, cool ringtones, sms...
the list ends THERE!
so how many ppl want to actually go and dish out all that extra cash (that the other brand is asking for) for features they dont want to know about?
frankly, Nokia does a good job at delivering those things
so no wonder their market share will grow!
they r gving ppl what they want
I find it harder to sell a Sony Ericsson to ppl than it is to sell a Nokia or a Samsung (the embodiment of flashy)
but those phones r by no means better!!
u think ppl respect the P900?
hell no!
ppl respect the 3310!
y? becuz to them the P900 is a waste of money and hey, y the hell shld they actually get off their fat mofo lazy ass to read a manual?

Why do people here only think of the 3310.. the Series 60 phones (7650, 3650, 6600 etc) are a comparable success and they are feature packed devices. |

nah their not feature packed just have features alll the other nokias aka 7210 should have as standard. plus those phones have shit designs!
look at the n gage i cant see why people buy it the scrrens the wrong way around and is crap in quality its a crap phone over all. People who buy it know nothing their dumb gits who pertend they know something and lick nokias arse because their daft twats. i mean look how you use it to call people! its blatently for the 10 year olds who just send texts cos they cant afford to call people.
Look at the p900 nokia cant even come close to compete with t! heck they cant even compete with the p800
Nokia phones are bought by people who know little about phones and think they are really cool but blatently not.

Here in the UK, Orange had a 'videophone' using a high speed data-dial up connection of 28.8 kbs, which was knocking around in 2001.
It was just crap because of the slow speed & was only produced with microsoft to highlight what was/is possibly with a gsm infrastructure.
umts should offer a max speed of 364 or 384 kbs here on Orange (cant remeber exactly)

You know what's weird... Here in my country, the 7650 costs more than the 3650. If you compare features the 3650 sure beats the 7650 (except for its looks). I guess people put a "premium" on simple phones... I guess Nokia is better building "dumb" phones for the masses than building "smart" phones for techies.
And what's all the fuss with 3G?
Video conferencing is already possible with WiFi.

What the hell is wrong with you? The 3650 is so jam packed with features (including Symbian expandability programs). Theres actually a truck load of more software that is compatible with those phones than the P800!!
In fact, my 3650 has more features than a P800! Wanna try me? Apart from design, what features does the P800 have that my 3650 doesnt? Can you think of any? I dont think so.
Hey, wheres the video recording for example? Where Real One?
You think the 7210, or even 7250 should have had video redording, symbian 6, bluetooth? Nokia already kicks SE ass without those phones having features like that. Do you want Nokia to bury SE?
Oh but it has a touch screen- who cares? Thats a design feature. Anymore features you care to enlighten me the P800 has?

WRONG! I told you just above.
As I always say: Nokia sux? Put a logo on the phone and you people would think it was awesome!!

I shall defend the NGage
as a previous user of one, talking into it takes 4 calls to get used to it
(hell, I sometimes pick up my P900 on the side)
it had a few lag problems, but otherwise, the phone was awesome
the games RULED
so much better than a GBA SP
sure, by the end I was going to crack.. but that merely due to the fact that I am Px00 fan!
if I had no upcming phone in mind, I wld hv been very happy with a NGage
hell, even by the end, I was going to snap with the T610
we all know it rules
also, slapping on an logo wld not favour me to buying it
I think the T200, T100, Z600, T600 suck!
(Z600 cuz it is sooo big and is basically the T610)
regarding my comment about the 3310
y I mentionned that one, is becuz it is simply the typical Nokia..
it's the base for all Nokias
I dont consider there 7650, 3650 ,3660, 6600 part of their commun builds..
they make like 2 smartphones out of 30 phones
gotta concentrate on the majority!

I was saying if a awesome nokia phone (there plenty to choose from) had a logo on it, people here would love it!
Imagine the 6230 was (forbid me for hypothesising that SE could make such a great phone), then people wouldnt be able to contain themselves.
Nokia Sux? Put a logo on it and you'd think it was awesome!! |
