Not to cast aspersions onto the se camera, but having had the mca-25 (which went back to the shop after 5 days - I couldn't believe i'd spent £125 on something of such a poor quality!)
recently I bought the carphone warehouse mobicam zoom for £20, and it does the job very well - smae quality as MCA-25 and has different software on to customise photos (though i've never really seen the need for it, myself?!).
I know that the mca-30 is branded, and may drop in price, but if it is of the same quality photos as the cheaper one, why bother?

well i think you've made a mistake.
is that image the exact one taken with the camera or did you resize it?
it's only 320x240 which is the same quality as T610's camera.
MCA-XX are 640x480. it makes all the difference.
also, the brand makes a lot of difference. why do you think you can buy 3 megapixel cameras on ebay for so cheap? they're unbranded, and the quality of the photos, even if the pixel count is true, is very poor compared to the likes of Nikon and Olympus etc. |

i have a mca-30,being used with t t310. It has a bug It disconnects after five second or so after you exit the cam's menu and you have to remove and reattach the cam to get it working.. others have confirmed it. the pic quality is all right but do not make the mistake of using a zoom. pic quality deteriorates .
this is an example of pic after zoom

Well, after looking and looking at both of them I decided to get a MCA-25 because I like the idea of having a viewfinder option, because I have a T68 and using the screen sucks, especially in daylight. I couldn't care less about the extra effects; the lens cover of the MCA-30 is a good idea I'm going to miss, BUT...
but the MCA-25 was half the price!

Well, that might explain the pricings I've seen. In a radius of 500 meters, I've seen a store selling the MCA-30 for 67 euros, another shop asking 39 euros, and another shop selling it for 15 euros!! |
