Is it possible for you new P900 owners to extract the Communicorder from the P900 firmware? |

@sweet heart!
That sounds really great!!!
Do you have a friend who ordered the P900? Or do you have a realistic possibility to get your hands on a P900?
I once heard that developers can "borrow" phones from Sonyericsson. Maybe this is a way...?!
I would die for having the Communicorder on my P800! |

This video thing is very possable. remember a video recorder for the P800 allready came out and so we dont need to hack the firmware to get stream from the camera. i doubt the software conflict between the P900 and P800 will be great. very easy to overcome. I dont suppose Sweet-Heart could email Mobile.burn (since he still got a P900) and maybe he will copy all the P900 contents to a email send them to you and then u can start this great thing

I agree with your logic, however things are very rarely as easy as they sound when it comes to technology. I wish you much luck my Dutch friend, but be prepared for hurdles.

Herc....what the FUCK does that have to do with capitalism...Wow...you ARE retarded. I do see a VERY VERY VERY VERY slight connection, but its so slim it doesnt make a difference! What about the T68 - T68i Upgrade? HUH? hmmmmm....I thought that was called capitalism

What the hell has the the t68m -> t68i upgrade got to do with anything?? Why does everyone quote this as proof that will routinely upgrade your phone to the newest model or give you the features of the newest model?? The t68 upgrade was only to provide MMS, something that was originally promised for the t68m but could not be delivered in time. had to do this to avoid disappointing consumers and the networks; they wouldn't have bothered if they felt they could have gotten away without doing it. As herc says, we live in a capitalist society. |

Just a thought, but wouldn't the P900 version of Communicorder use UIQ2.1 as opposed to UIQ2.0 on P800?

Many thanks to you for your enthusiasm! We need people like you! If Sony/// doesn't give us the Communicorder we have to take it ourselve!

If you really can manage it to modify the Communicorder for our beloved P800's I will only call you "P800 god"...
I'm so glad I didn't sell my P800 - now when a Communicorder may come true... no more need to buy a P900! Despite this only the P800 is the real "James Bond" phone!
EDIT:
Just ordered a MS Duo 128MB for my P800 to have enough memory for video recording. This should show you that I believe in you, sweet heart!

And BTW... if even a DigitalPhotoCamera with 2.2mp, optical zoom and good photo quality gives you a shitty quality of video, what do you expect from a phone with +-0.6mp and shitty photo quality?
I really think that Video on a phone like the P9/800 is only there for the fun to show that he can do that too, but no real application possible... more a fun gagdet then a usefull application.
And that's in fact also what i think about the camera capacity of the P800, just good for a snapshot if you don't have something esle in the neighbourhood, but for the real work, you need a least 1.3mp.... we will have to wait till next year, when the real new P-serie comes out and let us hope this one as finally a usefull camera |

@blue
You are wrong. A P800 Videorecorder should never be a replacement for a real digital camcorder.
I have a digital camera for photos and a digital camcorder for videos.
But the reason why I want a Videorecorder on my P800 is following:
I want it BECAUSE of it's resolution! That's because I want to post videos in the internet and for this purposes they have to be small with little memory and little resolution. The P800 would be perfect for internet videos!
Despite this - I decided to buy a "Mini DV cam" - a kind of digital camcorder which only records on a memory card and also has only max. 640x480 resolution. If the P800 has the videorecording function I don't need to buy this.
