This usually happens if you copy each file sepetatly or you copy a file that is locked by a program

control panel -> system properties -> hardware -> device manager:
remove Shuttle Etapi device, detect hardware changes, install device from a list, choose system device, associate it with:
epmmc2k - a system file 145 Kb
epmmc2k - setup information 2 Kb.
(these files are in the win2000 drivers)
This works for me everytime i have to reinstall the mmc reader. Hope it helps, btw i don't take responsibility if it screws up your comp. |

The HPM-10 parallel port card reader works with XP but you have to fool around with it for a while. The instruction above seems similar to what I did. Generally when saving to the MMC it is a good idea to leave it in the reader for a couple of minutes even though Windows says that it has finished copying. Furthermore don't bother with the XP function that lets you "safely remove the card" - it will just lock up on you. Just pull out the card instead. |

whoa whoa guys. slow down. here is the problem.
the scmmicro drivers install a program called ICONFIG.exe and it runs in the background on your win2000/xp system. hit CTRL+ALT+DEL on the keyboard, select task manager, select the processes tab, find ICONFIG.EXE, select it, and hit end task, select yes. now your computer shouldn't freeze or slow down.
what does ICONFIG.exe do? it adds a stylish icon in my computer for your mmc reader. when you disable iconfig EACH TIME you restart your computer, windows will use the default icon for a removable disk.
BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE MMC FROM THE READER, right click the MMC Reader icon in my computer and select Eject!!!!!
hope this helps.!

I've installed the drivers for XP as mentioned above. My computer recognizes a removable disk. BUT it says I don't have a disk in! Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
