T68m and T68i memory capacity |

by "different OS", do you mean that after the upgrade the T68m will have exactly the same functionalities/features as the T68i BUT they use different OS?
if this is the case i think it is possible that T68i might have more storage capacity than T68m.

According to SE, the OS is different,..that will not be changed.
Yes, they have exactly the same features after the T68m is upgraded, although their OS is not exactly the same.
The different OS also affects the battery-times :
T68i has better battery-standby.(+100 hours)
T68m has better talk-time.(+ 1 hour)
AND the way the memory "shows". But theres no actual difference in the capacity.
Thats the way it works according to Per Alksten SE.

since they have different OS then it is possible that even if they both have the same memory, the size of the OS might differ thus resulting in different storage capacities. T68m might have less storage capacity than T68i or it may be the other way around.
am i too paranoid??? hehehe

Let me put it this way, during CeBIT I talked to one of the product managers for T68x andhe told me that they are identical inside. The total memory is almost 2Mb. I don't know what it's used for when you only can 'see' ~1 Mb.
Btw, thee P800 has 12Mb momory and if you take away the 'phone function' u got additional 4Mb, but then you can't use it as a phone. |

T68m and T68i have identical hardware, end of the STORY! Can't we just drop this subject already? There's really no need to discuss this any further... |

I agree kevin this is getting a bit boring. How many times do people have to say the same thing over and over?

I'm agree with Snottra ... mean both phones have 2MB memory ... where have you seen e.g. 1119kb memory chips?? There is only 1MB, 2MB, 4Mb etc. chips! The most popular (and most cost effective) now as I remmember are 2Mb and 4Mb (btw BIOS chips in PC's etc.)! So I think that it is e.g. 2Mb memory chips in the phones, but after formating phones have different memory capabilities because of defferent OS.
Like the floppy disks have physicaly 2Mb of memory, but after formating this disk to IBM compatible it have only 1,44Mb of memory!
This is my opinion!
2 last two posters: the forums are made to discuss different things! If you dont like the discussion, so don't read it and leave the forum!!! But why ask other people to stop discussions??! May be this topic is still interesting FOR OTHER PEOPLE??!! |

Edward > Quite right,..I'm just quoting Per Alksten from SE, who told this information in an article. He should certaintly know what he's talking about,..he's not "just" an employee at SE
