I was just concerned by the comment in the instructions that says "If you have another bluetooth headset connected you will be asked to replace it" which seems to imply you can only have one headset paired at once.

I appreciate that you can only have one CONNECTED at once! But your experience seems to indicate that I can pair up more than one.

I will have a try and see what happens.

Personally with Bluetooth i wouldn't buy cheap!

You do of course realise that Bluetooth operates at 2.4Ghz, microwave is 2.5Ghz, the more expensive the bluetooth gear the better its insulated! I'm not sure i'd relish a hands free bluetooth kit sitting in my lightersocket only inches away from my knackers! £50 bluetooth in your car and a free plumbs spit roast and no risk of children.

Would they be allowed to sell a dangerous product that doesnt pass various tests? Also what about these BT headsets are they frying our brain?

I have a SE BT car kit which I use with my T610 and it works a treat - no crackling like I get with the BT headset. As soon as I turn on the ignition, it connects to the phone and so it all works swimmingly. On my old T68i, I had to manually connect the car kit and phone by prssing the 'call' button on the car kit, which was a bit more of a hassle.

Don't bother paying loads of cash to get it fitted - do it yourself! It's really easy: You don't need to remove the dash (you can use the hole left by removing your radio out of the way) and there's only 3 wires I think- earth, power (always on) and power (on with ignition). These can just be connected to your cigarete lighter or radio wires. The small control panel can be placed discreetly (i have mine down by the hand brake) and has a nice little green LED to tell you its all working and has reception.

I bought the 'advanced music mute' kit as well, which is just an extra box which sends the sound through your two front car stereo speaker rather than using that little supplied one. I'd advise you try it with the supplied speaker first and then get the AMM kit later if you think you need it. It doesn't do a lot for sound quality (stereo is even a bit weird!) and the standard kit mutes your radio anyway. Definately worth a go though is the boom microphone as this picks up your voice better than he small supplied unit which can be too far away for motorway speeds.

All available from the SE Eshop as not many places keep the extra bits and pieces in stock.

My T610 is paired with both the carkit and a HBH-30 BT headset with no problems - it just picks up whichever is near by. Not sure what would happen if I had both in the car with me though, although I think the one at the top of the list takes priority. May be I should try that at some point...

I actually saw something very similar at a mall in australia.https://8comwireless.com/moreinfo.cfm?Product_ID=39&Category_ID=10 it looked very similar to one of these. Truth be told it connected very well.. had no functional problems and very cheap.. but i told the sales guy no.. because i was pretty dissapointed with the volume. The sales guy let me test it at the store but at full volume the unit couldnt really be heard over the normal store noise. I told the guy that if it cant be heard over store noise how the hell is it going to be heard over road noise.. the sales guy tried to tell me that road noise is quieter than store noise.. I just laughed as i walked out of the store. Hope that helps

Well I have had mine about 10 days and I am about to send it back - unless anyone here can offer suggestions.

I have installed and paired the thing - fairly easy although the instructions are a bit vauge.

Unfortunately - it is very difficult for anyone that I call to hear what I am saying!

If anyone here has one and it is working - could you tell me where to put the microphone ( )? How far away from you is it? etc

Thanks

@SonySandy

A household microwave operates at 650W.

Bluetooth operates at roughly 0.001W.

Please stop posting rubbish about being cooked, because it won't happen. If you're really that concerned then you'd better buy some lead lined clothes to protect you from the (unsheilded) sunlight.

Mr Wright do you have the Scan cheapy BT like me? I have been using it for about a month now and have had no problem with the other person hearing me or me hearing the other person. The volume coming out of the speaker is loud enough to hear when driving and thats not at full volume. I drive a Mini cooper which isnt the quitest car in the world, i havent yet had any problem hearing the other person or them hearing me even on Motorways. I have the mic attatched just behind the steering wheel which is just about mouth level. The ciggy lighter where the unit is plugged in is practically at floor level and set quite back so the unit hardly shows, which is good for me as the kit does look cheap. End of the day it works superbly for me.
