I completely agree with Peter, I wasn't at all pissed off when they released the T66, simply because it is a new phone with new and different functions! But releasing the same phone is pretty pathetic....
Especially the fact that you can update the T68m to the T68i... what's the bloody point of releasing it then???? I don't quite understand way (or lack) of thinking here

Dear Mr Ibrahim
Thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson.
With regards to your enquiry, the T68i has not been released by Sony
Ericsson in the UK yet, despite what you may have heard on various internet
and web chat forums, it will not be released until the second quarter of
this year.
Regarding MMS we cannot update your phone or release the software, as this
is specifically a network service and as yet no network has this service in
operation. We cannot state when MMS will be made available, until the UK
based networks are ready to release this service on the open market.
Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact
us again.
Kind regards,
Gareth Forrester

Simply posting the reply I've got, I'm not sure what it means really... I'd suggest that people in the UK who do own it either own it by some friend who works in a shop who got a pre-release version or something, or else have got it from Asia perhaps? No idea really, but I can't say I've seen a T68i officially on sale in the UK yet.

well at least replied to u saying something. All i got was call this number which is £1 a minute and sit there for half an hour to find out something you could be told in an email (not quite worded like dat though!) |

I tried to leave them no room to fob me off in my e-mail; I stated that they were always giving differing release dates, or saying that there was 'no official information', and I vaguely recall stating that there was just a general air of apathy or something. If you're direct with the questions, there's only so much wiffle-waffle they can give

No network supports MMS, so no need for an upgrade, why do you need MMS when you can't suport it, no network supports it in the UK at the mo. The T68i in Britain are all imports, T68i isn't officially released over here yet, when T68i comes out most networks will support MMS, then we can have our upgrades.
The ony way us T68 users in the UK can have the upgrade is by waiting for the T68i or issusing death threats and stalking the CEOs of SE. I don't recommend the latter option unless things get really out of hand or your pissed out of your mind.
The morale of the day is to wait, then firebomb them if they still treat us like shit |

I don't want the MMS update for the MMS feature, I'm waiting for picture phonebook, ability to store multiple backgrounds, improved ringtone composer, increased SMS speed, improved themes, and pretty much every addition besides MMS. Too expensive for my liking really, and I don't know anyone else who can receive it anyway.

I also dislike the way that sends you a reply and after reading it, you still know as much as before you read it....
I wonder if will just give us MMS, after all that is what they originally promised for the T68m, that would actually make more sense, then T68i would be a new phone....

Well, I really don't understand what SE has planned anymore. But I don't really have a problem with the T68i. I can always get my T68 replaced with the T68i, if it ever reaches here. And SE has said that the T68 is upgradable to the T68i.
So what's the problem, if all the difference is battery talk time and standby, heh.
