Isnt there a better product to EDIT THEMES? I had a Beta version of the software on the phone ...where you could edit the THEMES on the phone! That rocked! Why did they remove that?
What HEX editor is ezy to use?

I use this hex editor, but I think all of them are easy to use. (Easy as a hex editor, maybe a bit much hassle for editing a theme, but if you really want to do it...) http://www.kibria.de/frhed.html
Can I have the URL of the theme editor on SE's site? |

Thx. In the meanwhile I found it. Actually I've been to that site, but it must be a new addition for T68i. |

Orang3 > It will only work with T68i.
You cannot download themes to the T68m with the current software, only the mms-software.
And although the Sonyericsson site is called wap.sonyericsson, this is also the web-site, where you create the Themes.

This is how I managed to edit my own Themes. (To make it simpler, I'll use the same filenames)
NOTE: You need to be able to connect your T68i to your computer either through IR or Bluetooth.
1. First I use IR to beam a Theme on the T68i to the computer, I'll use the Winter theme here (Winter.thm).
2. Rename "Winter.thm" to "Winter.tar" and then use any compression program that supports TAR files to extract the content to a folder. I use WinAce Archiver.
There should be 6 files extracted.
(1) blue.xml -------- stores the colors of the theme in hex format.
(2) BlueBkg.gif -------- the background picture.
(3) BlueDesk.gif -------- background picture of the Menu.
(4) BlueTIM.gif -------- medium title image.
(5) BlueTIS.gif -------- small title image.
(6) index.txt --------- a plain text file with the filenames and their sizes in <> brackets.
Use Notepad to edit blue.xml. Modify the colors to whatever you want. You have to use the hex code for the colors. Here's a good site with colors and the corresponding hex value. http://www.webresults.net/colorchart.htm
After you finished editing the colors. Save blue.xml. You can also edit the gif files. I haven't experiment with the title images yet but I don't think it should be difficult. e.g. BlueTIM.gif is 101x27 in 16-color. Create a new one with the same name (for simplicity in this example), same dimension and color depth.
As mentioned above in the file list. index.txt stores the filenames of the theme components as well as their filesize. Modify this file in Notepad and make changes if needed.
e.g. Content of index.txt
blue.xml <2501>
BlueBkg.gif <1611>
BlueDesk.gif <1230>
BlueTIM.gif <278>
BlueTIS.gif <1040>
If the gif files you created has different sizes, modify the filesize in the <> brackets accordingly.
If you are done modifying your theme files, use WinAce to create a TAR file and add all the files into it. (In WinAce, set Archieve type to Tar)
Rename the newly created TAR file with extension THM. Beam the THM file to your T68i. After successfully receiving the file, T68i will tell you a theme file has been saved in Themes.
Now, here's the moment of truth. Apply the theme you created to see if it works/how it turns out.
I have tried this method to many several themes for myself and my friends and they all work perfectly.
If you would like to get a copy the original Winter.thm file, email me at pocketpcrocks AT yahoo.com (replace AT with @).
I hope you find this informative and useful. =)

I want to know how to swap or edit the existing dialog pictures on the T68i. For example the Key Lock and Turn off Key Lock pictures. |

Hi,
I have just got a T68i, and am reading the forums, I have uploaded themes via bluetooth on my 12" PowerBook and the theme for the more part seems to work (text colours, layout &tc), but the desktop background and the menu background does not get set, the pictures from the theme do not appear to get loaded. Do i need to store these pictures in "My Pictures" seperately or might I be doing something wrong?
I am in Australia if it is a limitation that exists within the .AU firmware.
(I hope this is the right place to post this)
