Yes, you should be able to. I just got a new background over WAP, so it apparently works!

You're making a big mistake if you get the T68 on Virgin rather than on contract, but its your decision

drinky, it all boils down to user requirements.
I dont want contract because i dont want to have to be commited. OKay so i miss out on certain things.
GPRS - i dont use wap that much anyway.
MMS - it wont be used a lot in the beginning anyway.
and, id happily pay more for calls, because i have the peice of mind im not actually spend loads, cos i can only use the credit i have available.

THANKS PEOPLE!
I think ill get it on virgin pay as you go because once i have bought the phone there is no more payments (apart from credit). I really dont like the idea of paying line rental every month, it just gets too expensive. The PAYG phone is cheaper in the long run because of no line rental. Also, if someone robbed my phone (goddamn hope not) they can only spend what credit I have on my phone, and not £1000's from my bank account.
Really, the PAYG phone appeals to me cos its less hassle

Good luck Chaindog. Virgin are definitely the best people to be with as far as non-contract goes. Come back and tell us how you're getting on when you buy it

One last tip: You might want to scan the eBay auctions for a sim-free T68 from a reputable seller, then buy a £10 Virgin connection pack to connect the phone up.

Examples:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1340599229 - £240

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1340536258 - £190

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1341210580 - £100 - you just missed that one.

Because i'm getting the phone on PAYG, does that mean that i can't get the free upgrade when its out? I remember someone saying its only for contract phones, is this true?
Thanks:)

so drinky, if youve got your T68 now, would you be selling your T66???

but the upgrades will be available to every T68 owner, they are all the same phone after all.

Heh, my T66 was a loan, unfortunately. But I'd love one to complement my T68 - if ever two phones worked perfectly together, its the T66 and T68.

Is this me being stupid..but why didnt you get it for 129.99 at Carphone Warehouse, then get a 10 quid Virgin PAYG SIM?

It'll be unlocked then too. ). Lovely Jubbely.

Unless..it is already unlocked?

Just a thought.

If you buy it at CPW, you have to commit to pay a monthly line rental. Hence they give you a £200+ discount off the T68, making it £129 rather than £300+, because they make the cash back through line rental.

Chaindog has bought the phone this way to avoid the line rental, and pay through PAYG.
