Wasn't the above known as a "transportable"? It was 3 watts, as opposed ot the portables limit of under 1 watt.

My first and biggest phone was the ALCATEL HC200 or something, anyway it was f*cking huge, with pull out antenna and flip and you had to take the battery off to charge

Hey, how many of you had a beeper???

My first fone woz the Motorola C520. It is probably twice the size of the T68. Next i got a T20 which was quite small but the battery woz huge and it woz quite thick. It weighed quite a bit!!

My 1st phone was a PIONEER Flip phone.. never seen a Pioneer one b4.. basically it was exactly the same as a Motorola flip.. but lighter in coulour and a nice Pioneer logo on it. Was a good phone..

Still.. T68s RULE!!!

It was a nokia 1610

My father had a motorola wich was built into the trunk of a car (it used half the trunk on a mercedes e class)

(the antenna on the roof made the snow melt in the winther )

Does'nt all this bring back a lot of heavy memories? I remember the good old 80's when we drove around the city, all of us had walki talkies at that time, suddenly one of the chaps turned up with a transportable telephone! We laughed our heads off! Look at us now... Everybody has a mobile phone the size nobody ever thought was possible in -85, that was the first time I saw someone speak in a phone that wasnt attachee to the wall!!! Amazing! KS

A Dancall NMT 900. It was huge! Funny thing about it was that it heated up so much during a call that you couldn't talk for more than 5 mins :-).

Had nokias first gsm phone! Loved it to bits even though it looked like a brick! Still use it when i do a bit of weightlifting! Ed
