i met some orange engineering guys shortly before the P800's release, and they admitted to me that the SPV was released way too early as it's seriously bugged, and they even went as far as saying it was nowhere near as good as the P800s they had for testing

I personally dont think oranges network systems are capable of handling the technology or software capabilities of the P800 or the SPV. I even think T-Mobile is a step ahead in the technology and network compatibility for the P800.
We have so much hassle with Oranges software at my work and they think they can sort it in the form of a text message!!!! No chance! |

Has your orange rep not come and upgraded the software on your SPV yet? They run much better with it but still don't compare to the p800, which branch do you work at?

I don't own a P800 yet (emphasis on yet) but I've had a go with a demo one and I've had a play around with a mate's SPV - I didn't like the SPV because the buttons were too small and cramped together and the phone itself felt very heavy indeed. The P800 is much lighter and much easier to use, even the buttons on the flip are easier to use than the SPV's. I did like how you can have MSN Messenger on the SPV though, that's definitely a plus point for it!
All in all I'd recommend the P800 - that's what I'm going for!

I say P800 not just because I own onw but because I played with them both and the P800 won hands down.

i have SPVx for a week now, it has a FW version of 1.3.7.8, ive been playing with it for a week, so far so good, didnt hang and color is very sharp, i tried sending pics from my p8 thru IR and compare both and my SPVx is way ahead, memory card is a lot cheaper, ms duo cost around $130 for 128mb while 128mb SD card cost is only $55. the only drawback for my SPVx is that its slow in initial booting, there are some nice apps in handango but sad to say it wont accept credit card from the Philippines, so most of my apps are trial versions..
