I have the T68 with Outlook XP and XP Pro running fine with a usb irda adapter.

I had all sorts of hassles with the t68 drivers/software so went back to using the t39 stuff. So far works great with my 39/68.

The only thing I have different is I have the full version of XTNDConnect. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.

The modem driver will pop up a warning as its not MS certified, I overrode the warning and it connects happily.

Hope this helps.

I mailed Ericsson about this and this was the reply I got back.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your email regarding the Ericsson T68.

There is currently no support for any device with Windows /Office XP, if you are in doubt, check the Ericsson website at: http://wap.sonyericssonmobile.com

Until there is software which specifically states XP compatibility for a specific device, we do not support XP with it.

Ericsson may decide to support their handsets on Windows XP and release compatible software in the future. If we decide to do this, the software will be available on our Mobile Internet website.

Yours Sincerely
Ericsson Data Support

I am not so impressed by this. I had the same problem with W2K and Office2K. The fact I upgraded to XP to try solve the problem (it improved it but didn't solve it) is irrelavent. I wish companies would stop fobbing off the fact their is clearly a bug somewhere on the fact you are using a newer system than the one that 'support'. Their is clearaly a problem (as a lot of people seem to have this) and what is needed is software that works, not saying we dont support XP, and we haven't even looked to see if their is a problem.

Here's my experience...

I use a Toshiba Tecra 8100 running Windows XP Professional. Its infrared is FIR (can't change speed). The sync program (T68, Package 1) does not work, however, it worked once then died. Not even the T65 standalone package (package 2 with T68 drivers [package 5]) worked.

I then installed Windows 2000 Professional on the same notebook in a different partition in desparation. Initially I installed Package 2 and 5. Worked like a charm. Then I installed Outlook XP and Package 1. Still working.

I would like to believe what Ericsson support said, based on previous experience with my R320. The R320 package said it does not support Windows 2000 (at that time) and an update for Windows 2000 shall be made available. Nothing worked on Windows 2000, until they made their promise available from their website, which made everything work. And the problem is also about the infrared.

I will be installing Package 4 (can send/receive SMS via Outlook) and 5 sometime soon.

By the way, package 2 w/ 5 also worked on my R320. I manage both phones using the same software.
