I used Next Communications in Southampton, the only official SE SC in the area, upgraded fine with no problems and no questions asked

I used R's Electrics in Tottenham, London. Speedy service and no quibbles with regards to it being an orange handset.

but what does your phone look like after an upgrade? - is all the orange branding / functionality gone or can you 'restore' that?

thanks, benjiP

Had a chat with one of the guys at CPW in Bon Accord Centre, Aberdeen. He had his Orange handset upgraded with the "standard" R2D and it wrecked his phone.

Apparently they are still waiting for Orange to test R2D?, seems strange if CPW in London can do the Orange upgrade ...

CPW in Glasgow wrecked mine as well.
Second phone I tried Atlas Communications in Glasgow as recommended by SE.
According to the girl from SE, CPW arn't an authorised repair centre -which was news to me. I used to work for cpw until last month.
Anyway by the looks of it the authorised repair centres can seem to do it fine (phone SE for your nearest one) where as the others seem to have problems.

R's electronics did my R2A (complete package, including R2D phone) a month ago - no problems, no charge.

I've not been online much recently, but hear tell of an R2F now - any significant changes?

R2F appears just to be some bugfixes. It's not a noticeable upgrade like R2D
