Can I remove Vodafone Live from my T610? |

I guess we first have to unlock our phone and then make a master reset to get rid of those ugly icons.
Only hope there will be some software hacks to do this soon. |

ok, got mine from vodafone germany. do not like the branding (heck why below the keyboard AND on the back), will try the rubber trick mentioned.
but more important: how can i get back the real se icons. those from vodafone suck big time.
my phone is not locked so i can easily use it with my business telekom d1 card.
can anybody confirm that a "hard reset" with any sim other then vodaphones inserted will do the trick?
need to know soon to be able to take back the phone if necessary.

I can only refer to my previous posting. The branding cannot be removed. That is confirmed by SonyEricsson. Also, on the EMMA Server (the SE Update Server) there are 8! different Softwareversions for the T610 (Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange etc.). If you try to flash a Vodafone T610 with a different Software than the VF Software it gives you an error.
So if you do not want the branding you will have to wait till the unbranded phones will be released in Europe (3-4 weeks approx.)

Any ideas how we can at least change the favourites menu?
This is ludicrous as I have to connect to Vodafone Live to even access my usual news pages at the BBC!
If this is what I have to put up with, I might as well go back to the T68, though I DO like this phone a lot.

The only thing I have found to do is that you can change your homepage. This means the silver button on the right of the phone doesn't take you to vodafone live anymore. To do this you need to add a new WAP Profile, as you can't change the ones already their. Once you have added a new WAP profile you can then set a new homepage to anything. Then the silver button takes you straight their. So now the silver button takes me to BBCi. Unfortunately the right soft button, the up button, the vodafone live icon, the favourites icons and the more XXXXX icons all still take me to Vodalive.
I don't mind them branding things as they did bring the phone out first and did sell it to me £100 off. I just wish they didn't block you from changing all these things. I don't really want a ferrari picture but I'm stuck with loosing the memory for it and can't delete it etc etc. Also I never did believe that advertising by bludgeoning (is it really necessary to have 5 ways to connect to V.Live?) is ever effective. Having said that Orange has sim-locked, logo-labelled, and customised their firmware for years and most of their customers are painfully loyal.
Oh and I just tried an O2 sim in my phone and it said "Insert Correct Sim". The guy at the Voda store said it would cost £20 to unlock. |

Dude! You are brilliant! I now have very fast access to my favourite WAP site!
I couldn't agree more about the overkill on Vodafone Live. I don't mind having some branding - after all, they "gave" me a very expensive phone for £70 - but this service is simply NOT a service that I find at all useful.
Did the guy in the shop say that unlocking (for £20) got rid of the VLive service mods?
It is all so annoying cos I had better WAP functionality with my T68i. |

I have an unbranded T610 so can't be sure if this will work for you but the right soft button (moving joystick to the right) invokes the first item in the shortcut list. So, if you change this to something else (like select profile as I have) it won't take you to vodafone wap page when you accidentally move the joystick right.

Moving the joystick to the left takes you to the first item in the shortcuts menu, which defaults as "write new text". This is easy to change, but am happy with write new.
Moving the joystick to the right takes you to the menu icon grid desktop.
Clicking the right soft key (the key above the C) take you to Voda Live! I can't see anyway to change this, unless I am mis-reading you.

No, it just enables your phone to take any sim card. Useful for when I go to SA and want to put in a local PAYG sim. |

Where can I download a new WAP profile from? Does SonyEricsson have a link to do this? |

Either Vodafone or Sony's websites have links for this. Or just reenter all the details manually |
