you can try upgrading although i dont think it wud be a firmware problem, just that ur current software is corrupted. So updating ur firmare shud help.

I think there's no limit in the size of the midi file. I got a polytone that is more than 100kb. |

I went to sony ericsson site and when asked it appears you have a t300. I said no and went to t310 and that phone has 32 capability and downloaded to my phone and they worked.
