does anyone know why poly ringtones
that i have download and send them via
infrared to my T300 wont play ?

Could it be that the tune is too long? I mean the .mid too large.
Siemens S55 won´t play midis larger than 50Kb.. could be that your phone has similar limit?

Yeah, i do think there is a limit, don't know how large because I only use .mid files around 10-15kb on my T310.... Try with smaller files eventually....

I can play .mid files up to 80kB on my T300 (software R1B), so I don't think that's the problem..

It's not the size - it's because it has too many instruments playing at once, i.e. over 24.

MIDI files don't have a limit to how many voices it can have. If the file has more voices than the device can handle, it will just play whatever it's capable of. That's why SP-MIDI was made so the author of the MIDI file can specify which notes are significant and should be played and which notes can be dropped.

I have played midi files greater than 100 kb on my phonw without problems (R1C001). file size wont be a problem, get ur phone software checked .

@ ired: no you do not need an upgrade for midi-files. (you can of course get an upgrade just 4 the upgrade )
