2 Mbailey.
What's the link to that site. I would kill for being able to use the MS rather than the duo. (think whole movies/tons o music). Maybe even using the MS pro (1GB up!!!)

The whole storage issue is the main question. That could work in some ways' If you treat the MS like a cartridge (think N64/Megadrive/etc.) then the cost of the memory itself would fall as more production facilities are made available. An adapter like the one Mbailey mentioned would be better, but not what Sony are after, which sadly means that the P800 won't get the software from them at least to utilise the MSPro like other more recent Sony products can. It wouldn't bother me about the bus constaints that may be present since there fine with the duo. It's more the space.
With the latency issue it's definately something the major comanies are lookingat but probably won't be solved outside of the 3G services not GPRS. It would make sense, but the whole reasoning in these' companies is scewed due to the cost of the 3g licences. So they'd rather you have that killer app on the 3g service that you have to pay to upgrade to and cover they're costs.
That said, who would look forward to MGS, TombRaider, FIFA, etc.

The cost of the games would be cheaper than a PS1 game, ideally. The reason is Sony Licence there gaes in order to make up for the fact the PS2/PS1 cost more to make than they sold for. Since the developer/publishers don't have to pay a licence for games on the series 60/UIQ OS they shouldn't have to add to the price. That said though they'll come up with a nice and bloated figure to push there AAA conversions, think £29.99 that's what Tombraider cost on the PocketPC and most won't put in the ammount of work that went into tombraider. ie you'll get shitty conversions they'll try and fleece you with. Hey i'm just synical. but once the accountans and marketing men get hold of the bottom line on the mobile game market, that's what you'll get.
It'll be hey we've got all these old games gathering dust that we own, lets patch up nice an quick and throw them onto the market. Nice and cheap to get there and we'll use the reputation the games got on the PSone to milk the market. grrr i hate those guys. |

The standard memory stick converter is at http://www.p800er.com/product.asp?id=48 - it replaces the rear battery cover and adds several mm to the thickness of the phone.
A lot of people have already said that the SE P800 wouldn't be able to read above 128MB regardless of the stick type used, however I have no way of verifying this. Maybe email the suppliers? |

i dont think the P800 is limeted to 128mb duo, for two reasons
1. they are allready makeing 264mb duos and 516mb duos and even 1gb duos so why would they limit there first device which features duos to only 128?
2. lets say we all go out and buy a 128mb duo, what would sony do with the bigger duos the market of the P800 users cant buy the bigger duos which would mean sony would lose money, and only the Net Man users would buy them sony would never do this to them selfs.
now u know the N-gage nokia are going to sell these games in the uk (and other places) on MMC cards, when the Psone came out the games where £39.99 now the games are £8.00 to £12.99 thats a big differnce and if the same games are gonna be on the n-gage i think nokia are going to want to make around the same money, the MMC cards cost more then PSone discs i can go into a shop and buy 1 blank CDR for 50p!! (at 700mb) if i want a MMC card im gonna be paying £51.99 to £79.99 and only get 128mb and so i think the games will cost around £39.99 or higher (maybe the same as the GBA and even the GBA dont got PSone games even though nintendo claim it is a 32bit machine)

ofcourse everyone has heard of longrange-bluetooth..
Is this some kind of "more powerfull bluetooth-module" Like it would b possible to actually play Metal Gear (for instance) vs another, pherhaps "unknown" P800 in da future..
cheers,
