lol. Now I look greedy The phones I've upgraded have both been bought abroad and not with Swedish T9 so that's the reasons for upgrading. The fact is that I don't like being charged for something that is free to others when the upgrade they're performing is the same no matter what the language in the previous version was. This however does not seem to be sanctioned by SE since I made a few calls and got just as many different prices for upgrading.

Hello from abroad, Orlando - Florida that is. I understand from all of your posts that your demanding more and more from your T68.. as am I. We just received the phones here in Florida about 3 weeks ago. I was one of the first people to pick one up, unfortunately it has a T68i manual that came with it. With much surprise I had returned the phone twice for problems, and once wondering why my phone didnt have the screensaver/attatchment of pics - etc... I now see why. Can you guys give me any info on whats going on in the states? Or if the "SAME" software upgrade would be availible for us, as our selves? I do not care abou the outer casing, however the rumoured "Backlit" keys/optional key board..would be nice.

I do not believe the talk about a hardware upgrade. It has been told many times that the T68m and T68i have identical hardware. I spoke to one of my friends that work as a software developer at SE and according to him the T68i software has mostly been developed on the T68m.

Well I don't believe they can charge for this upgrade, from a legal point of view anyways. As mentioned many many times before, when the T68 was first on sale, it was documented that it would support MMS when the networks support it. This was to be done via a f/w reflash. There was no mention of a charge for this, and as far as I am concerned I paid for the MMS support when I bought the phone. I will not pay an additional fee for a f/w upgrade for a phone that is still under the warranty period, period!. |

Now listen!
There is NO need for an hardware upgrade for t68m.
The t68m and t68i have exactly the same hardware!
The upgrade though, for t68 is not a standard procedure.
There is quite a lot of new information that has to be loaded, so it takes about 20 minutes to upgrade the phone.
No need to make any hardware adjustements! |
