OK guys. me is in london too... let me know which Service centre you get to for upgrade as carphone say it takes about a day for upgrade adn that was version R2B.
Waiting for upgrade so can get rid of annoying slowdown. |

i thought the upgrade was available to all, no matter what network they are connected to. i'm on Orange and from the posts on this forum, i'm under the impression it is only available for Vodafone customers in the UK |

As far as i am a where is that it is available to all but vodafone seems to be responsing first?

I just spoke to my closest service center (Trondheim, Norway), and they told me that the MMS upgrade would be released in the end of march 
Let's just hope they're wrong! |

SE will release MMS when the networks such as UK Vodafone do so. There is no network user discrimination. We will all get it if we have a T68m on orange, one2one, voda of o2!
If they release the MMS version and there is no MMS commercially available, how can SE boast or test the MMS to its potential or existing customers.
Vodafone is the worlds largest GSM operator and SE will use their MMS service rollout shedule to release the MMS sofware! If they followed telenor in sweden as they have MMS available, SE would not be in a good position to launch MMS, but will wait for a very large eurozone mobile group to launch MMS then would would follow suit.
Think about it... its a logical startegy.They will use vodafone's commercial MMS release as a determinant to the T68 MMS release. It should be more or less synchronised.

Ive just rang Carphone whorehouse and they dont know anything about the release!!! DAMN!!
Wots going on..hehehe 
Oh well.. im gonna wait and then see what happens with all the other service centres around the world..

I've just called a very good friend who owns a E/// service center here in Paris, he has just checked out five minutes ago on Emma 2 server, and the latest firmware available is still R2B013.
The server Emma 2 is a worldwide database, and when the new firmware will be released, it will be everywhere in the world.
When a firmware is released on Emma 2, if a dealer says "it's not available yet", it means he didn't take the time (or wasn't willing to) to download it on his computer.

From my xperience with software upgrades i can say that those software-versions are not necessarily internationalized, since i've been to my sc for an update of my r520 a few months ago, and i knew the update was there, but on the server they connect to, that version was unavailable, i've seen it with my own eyes. but sometime later we had the latest version here, when everyone else in the world didn't...
So, kinda strange thing, isn't it?
