The SX1 sux big time on design... sided numeric buttons topped the worst layout list; being worse than the Nokia 7210's.

SX1 donīt competete against P800, it is more like 7650 & 3650 nokia mobiles...

but rumers has said that SE P200 will compete against these...
i hope they will release this symbian non-toutchscreen mobile

I really like the SX1. Not much that can compete with it when it comes out if it goes for the price they say. The T610 is not even close, 2 MB against 25 with MCC cards as extra? this is even more than the P800 (and MCC cards are almost half the price of the sony sticks). Seems to me like its a phone to compete against Nokia 3650. SE doesn't have anything that directly compete with it. T610 is below, P800 is above.

Funny some people think P800 is above. Perhaps but features wise, I prefer SX1. Even if the price of P800 drops, I wont get it, Id rather take SX1 anyday.

If only not because of its radical keypad layout, it would have been a perfect phone for me

i think this post in another forum will be useful here.
http://www.club-siemens.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=16705

you see i have an sl45 and a t68i, and therefore i'm less prone to be biased becuase i have both an SE phone and a Siemens.

i have to say, after reading both this thread and the linked one i gave here, i still prefer the sx1.

Even with the t68i which has very easy buttons i use two hands to type so the keyboard won't be a problem.
the joystick style central navigation thing will be just like my t68i's. the phone does look much more stylish and is smaller than the P800 but that's an opinion so i won't include it in the comparison.

lets start comapring them.

1. normally i don't consider size in mobiles but that was when it was with the likes of the 8210, whcih is far too small. these days, the phone's are bigger, and therefore size matters. winner sx1

2. sx1 uses less expensive MMC cards unlike the P800. i can get 128mb for Ģ45. branded. winner sx1

3. the sx1 has a radio and a mp3 player. winner sx1

4. the P800 wins when it comes to power consumption. althgouth they both have the same battery the p800's standby time is double. winner P800

5. the sx1 has a better display (more colours) even though it's slightly smaller. winner sx1

6. the sx1 has 24mb internal memory. p800 has 12mb? winer sx1

7. the p800 doesn't have predictive txt??!!!! am i right? that's what it says on this website. winner sx1

8. and the p800 has a touchscreen. winner P800

so that.s 2 to P800 and 6 to SX1, and that's not including my personal preferances. just facts from this website. if anyone wants to add to this then please do.

as for sx1 not being able to type other than t9, are you sure?

and whoever said siemens phones are in the same league as nokia's don't know what they're talking about. there came a point where i prefered siemns to se, until siemens brought out the SX1. now i'm not sure. who brought out the first java enabled phone? and the same phone also had mp3 plaer with MMC slot.

It looks nice, 24mb, 65k and all but buttons on the side have to use two hands to make a call

have you read how many people are having problems with it?

just looking in the P800 and all i see are complaints. one guy is having difficulties with teh software. another has had a complete memory loss and lost many things including some pics of the party on saturday, and the scary thing is the replies were the likes of "yeah that's hapenned to me once or twice" and "you should backup your phone daily". there's also another guy who said his girlfriend dropped the P800 once and after one slide on the floor, the back cover came off and the screen broke. cost him Ģ150 to repair. who wants a phone that can't be trusted? it's like having a car and having to stop at the mechanic every 5 miles.

i think SE have not put all they can into this phone. personally, i'm not going to buy either SX1 or P800 until an update to either one comes out.
