Most people have had to dig deep into their pockets to get the phone in the first place so theres probably plenty of room

But still to big for my pockets and i'm a Clown.

The packaged headphone is fine for me. Sound quality is good and you dont have to replace it or take it out when you recieve a call.

Not big, it's huge...

It would break my phone if it got slightly bent.

I need to find a 2.5mm connector and I'll make my own.

I made my own converter from airline jacks (2 mono plugs) to a stereo plug. The airline headphones kill me, and I now use a pair of tiny sony silicone ended headphones that not only reduce outside noise but can fit comfortably in my ears for a long time.

is there anyway to get a bluetooth headset working with the mp3 player?

or where to get a smaller or L-shaped convertor, as although the sound quality is fine i cant get in-ear earphones to stay in my ear if i try and conseal the wires and the white wire from these headphones looks hideous when hanging down

Not really. A decoded MP3 stream is a far higher bitrate than the Bluetooth headset profile can support (only 64Kbps). Even most encoded streams are beyond this, which if it were possible, would then require mp3 decoding capability right in the headphones itself...

BTW, there are companies working on this. I have tried prototypes, and they look encouraging.

pearl62,

SE already announced MP3 (memory stick duo) based MP3 player & combination BT headphones. Looks like a neat design.

Still, I prefer the garden variety connector converter. I hope I can track down a 2.5mm jack that would work.

Damn, I've been using the headset more and more, initially for listening to mp3 but now I've started to use it for calls because it is so much clearer hearing the caller in both ears rather than just one.

However, you seem to contradict yourself in the last sentence. On the one hand, you're saying that the encoded streams are more than 64kps but on the other hand you say there are prototypes for mp3 decoding in the headset which look encouraging.

Here's my solution (apologies for the lack of a pic); I use it for the P800 and those funky nonstandard airplane headphone plugs so I can watch the in-flight using my noise-cancelers: (requires some soldering, so beware)

1) Go to Radio Shack (or your local equivalent - any place that sells 3.5mm male/female jack pairs.
2) Cut the SE headset cord about at 5 cm from the 2.5mm jack.
3) Attach female 3.5mm plug to 5cm 2.5cm jack/cord pigtail.
4) Attach male 3.5mm jack to the now jack-less SE headset.

You now have a 3.5mm SE headset that will work with any standard audio device, AND a universal inline 2.5mm -> 3.5mm converter that doesn't stick way out from the device.

U can just get an adapter with a cord so that it does not stick out like that thing LOL

Also I am going to buy this: it is the only way to listen to mp3 with bluetooth headset. it lasts 6 hours of talktime/listen and 150 standbye beat that!!!!!!!

http://www.openbrain.co.kr/e_site/e_products/e_products03.htm

it's not just for PC headfones although it does come with a bluetooth dongle to transfer mp3s and use for like PC games etc.

THANK ME LATER!
