The clawback is only applicable if it is in your T&C - So if you buy for a high price at an Orange retail store then you prob wont have a Clawback.
However if you buy for a cheap price and high tariff then you basically have to pay 4 months on that tariff and change to a lower tariff after that.

www.mobilesuk.net cheapest prices around and next day delivery. I got mine 3 weeks ago for £20.99 on the orange talk 400 plan (£50 for first 4 months) then you can drop it right down to a cheap tarrif. Going for a 400 plan works out cheaper than paying more for the phone and going on the 200 plan. MY P800 ROCKS!!!!!!! |

Phone unlocking by Orange themselves costs £20,they just put the charge on your next bill.
