@Pachy I _AM_ In the know... of what i want and need.
If i need a forklift iīll get one and if i need a Chrysler Voyager iīll get one. Theyīre both brilliant but one canīt substitute the other.. Get the metaphore?
So please donīt make the mistake of thinking you know something others donīt
Oh, and no offense!
Cheers! |

@ThreeX, no offence taken, he he when i make those remarks it`s to DRAW out the people who might be a challenge, it`s always meant "light hearted" when i say "no offence" it`s supposed to be mocking the kind of people who can`t see others point off view & then have the cheek to say no offence...............get it now ??
Someone always bites.
NO OFFENCE
Read the post in the garbage thread called NEWS FLASH someone in there took that seriously aswell.

@Pachy
Damn! You got me there.. Well i woke up on the wrong side today or something
Still think SE is grossly overrated though after 2 months with t68i and T200 (girlfriends phone)
Have to confess that i am now a prospective Siemens S55 or N***a 6100 buyer.. Sorry SE, but give the t68 an adrenaline injection instead of treacle
*It acts as a P75 with Windows XP*,
give the menus an overhaul and i might be game again!
May YOUR god go with you all!

@ThreeX, Yea i bought the brick because i was carrying an ipaq & T68i which was too much bulk. I had a t68 in nov 2001 & it really was a forward phone then.
Your a small phone man i see, well i checked out the siemens & apart from the two slightly sharp keys beneith the screen (t68 joystick felt sharp at first) it had a nice feel & a nice size screen. it`s the only small phone that i like at the moment but hav`nt tried it, good luck.
PS. No offence |

I don't think it would be such a problem keeping the P800 for three years, it will still be "in" in the USA, after all, it 2003 and you guys are still happy using a Motorola STARTAC, aren't you???

Haha, and just look at the Blackberry That was all the range not so long ago in the US, yet most British people and companies wouldn't touch it with a barge pole!

@Arroyootje, it is quite strange isn`t it, but to be fair the landmass is so huge it`s just not cost effective to put masts up everywhere, i compare it to scotland where as soon as you leave a town you loose the signal, but with a Startac you just call the Enterprise if you have a problem making a meeting & they fly ahead to explain (cos everyone knows that beam me up stuff is just fiction). |

The only people using a startac that I know or cheap bastards (like my brother who inherited mine some years ago) and old people who think they are cool for getting a "futuristic" free phone. Any sel respecting gearhead would not carry 5+ year old technology around...unless it was a TRS80 Model I with the expansion interface! SE all the way! |

First of all, America is sore that their CDMA standard never took off... this is why they're so pissed at GSM, this is why it took them forever to adopt it into THEIR OWN 1900 band...no matter what they say about 'crowded airwaves'... regular GSM would've worked in the US.
Now they're trying to push GSM out of the way because they helped develop WCDMA, EDGE & UMTS... and i stress the word HELPED.
3 years??? Man, I haven't owned a phone longer than 6 months! And unless 3G can match or beat current GSM rates... I don't think 3G is worth it...I'd rather go with WiFi.
And what did he say about Japan??
"GSM may become irrelevant as the US waits for the even faster 3G standards, although 3G won't be available for three years. Japan is skipping GSM entirely to go to 3G."
Uhmmm... maybe cuz Japan likes having their own EVERYTHING... they run 100volts, not 110 or 220. They have i-Mode, not WAP, they have their own FM radio bands, as well as their own version of PAL-SECAM. They also never used AMPS, ETACS, TDMA, D-AMPS, or ANY "standard". Even for GSM, they use their own PCD standard. Wanna know why??? It improves export revenues. I highly doubt Japan's 3G will be a standard 3G network/handset.
TechTV has been pretty reputable... but once in a while, they get weird "tech-head glitches" hehehehe

That's a good one.. LOL... actually, some still are using the startac. I'm waiting for my P800 to arrive (on backorder). For now, I have to settle for the Panasonic GD87 (can't complain). |
