i stopped using my phone as a music player. i guess it will prolong the battery life of my phone because continuous charging and discharging could shorten the lifespan of the battery. i bought myself an ipod nano 5g and use it instead.

MP3 files sound quality is terrible ... CD Audio and Cassette Tape is Way better

That's peculiar, what bitrate do you encode your MP3's in? You are aware that this affects sound quality greatly right? If you're talking about 96-160kbps then of course it sounds terrible Cassette tape cannot possibly sound better since 192kbps encoded MP3s are already of CD audio quality

IMHO, phones are the best mp3 players around.. they even beat the !

my K700i was my mp3 player before (but i have to encode my songs to AAC-LC/96kbps/mono to fit at least 30 songs) but the sound quality is basically great!

then my G502 came.. with that beast MegaBass, and AudioPhile Premium Acoustics of miss Hiron.. with a HPM-70.. and a 4GB M2.. and i quickly became an audiophile wasting more hours of music.. insanely great than my china-made MP3 players and the iPod..

i want to test encoding CD's to uncompressed wave format..

Im satisfied enough with my phone, and i dont want to go back using my mp3 player since my phone much better than it (i just have cheap mp3 player)

I'm use my phone for listening music at least 2hours/day.
With mod acoustic, adjustable eq, average IEM (in my taste), and 320kbps songs, i get nice quality sound output.
But i hope one day se will make their phone support *.flac

for me, still using standalone mp3 player most of the time, for short walks I'll use my phone, but for driving and long distance trips I'll use my mp3 player, reasons are typically for battery life and high capacity in my hd player.

Sorry but there is no way any sony ericsson phone can beat a top of the line X-series walkman.

My mom asked me to give up my as my mp3 player and go for an iPod. But I won't. I'll definitely miss the superb audio quality phones' have.

I recently got an HTC Desire, I love being able to just stream Last.fm rather than buying a 16gb memory card, but the quality just isn't great and I'm tempted to get myself an iPod Touch to compliment it.

I'm using my W705 as mp3 player.
With the acoustics from blacklizard it sounds much better than my ipod nano 3G.

It's an old Nano, I never really compared them as I don't want to carry 2 devices.

I feel a decent pair of ear/headphones make a huge difference...

I have an x10 paired with sennheiser ie6 and they sound excellent... Plus I hate carrying more then one device...
