Even though i said would Sony go their own way i would not want that. They have Cyber Shot and Walkman as well as other innovations. I just hated their old phones Ericsson would probably not survive by themselves and joining with Moto could be good in some ways but maybe not in others. They are 2 struggling companies though which may be good but i don't know.

to be fair to sony, the J5 wasn't a bad device at all. scroll the 3d menu from left to right with the navi wheel. push it in to select as i remember. also had pretty good polyphonic capabilities too..quite usable.

i can't see moto joining se or vice versa until one or both are financially on their arse...

Motorola gone? Not likely while they are coming back. If they merge they could split the market, Motorola for droid. Sony for Windows. Ericsson for Java.

@masseur

I agree with you but Ericsson was very innovative, in fact, I dare say more than Sony. Of course, you didn't say they weren't but that Sony was.

There was another story doing the rounds that Ericsson may or is likely to buy Motorola which entails that this is an Ericsson only buy and not SE's or Sony's. I remember the same story years ago and if it turns out to be true then it should be an interesting scenario. Would Ericsson absorb Moto into SE or keep it as a separate company?

If I were to bet on who would be out of the cellphone market between SE and Motorola then I would go for SE, they are just not cutting it, quick to announce and slow to release, tend to be buggy even after all these years, overpriced phones and a complete lack of strategy.

I still wish for them to be with us as I feel comfortable and like their phone but realistically they have lost their way and don't seem to be finding it.

As for the merger of SE and Moto, it is just unfathomable to me and wouldn't like to see it.
It's not what you do or even how you do it but in what state of mind you do it: Dups! 2009

I owned the j5 & j70 but never liked them. After buying one not liking it i thought I would give Sony another try but still not to my taste. Having had Nokia & Ericsson at the time I was too used to them Ericsson invented Bluetooth
