Still think thats not right blocking things like that normal functions on the phone. O2 need a smack up the arse for that Sounds like the old Vodafone days when they used to bar you from using a ringtone unless it was from Vodafone.

I never knew vodafone used to bar you from changing the ringtone , well i've never actually used a branded vodafone phone, never been on vodafone ever. Only because every I ask who own vodafone phones say its not a good network.

Any yeah I am really hating O2 right now, I did not mind O2 along time ago because they never put any branding at all on all there old phones (like the K750i/W800i era) there phones had no O2 branding. But know there getting like the other companys and adding branding to there phones, lets hope they don't put a O2 logo on there phones to replace the or walkman logo.

That Vodafone thing was many years ago it became so annoying but they seen sense in the end. Wrong wrong wrong. You buy a phone you should be allowed to use its basic bloody features. Sometimes I really hate networks think i am going to start my own network As long as O2 do not start putting their own menu icons on the phones then everyone will be only buying sim free or from Carphone in future

hopefully this is not the start of a new policy by o2.
previous phones i have had from them with branding have only had an o2 theme and o2 active shortcut instead of playnow, they were not even network locked.

yes same with me, this is the first o2 phone that has done this to me, this has happened to my sisters k800i as well, she just did a normal software update on SEUS and then she cant change the ringtone, theme and message alert! but everything else is fine though.

This is what I don't get I have never known branding to block using themes ringtone or message alert & certainly not video. Why block video recording makes no sense & is odd. Are you sure the phone was not faulty?

nope the same thing happened to my sister right now when she updated her O2 Branded K800, she brought it with just the o2 short cut and the o2 theme on it (the theme was change-able) and then suddenly after an software update on SEUS she cant video record, change ringtone, theme and blah blah blah.

my sister has a black one from argos, and hers was not either, it was when she did an update yesterday on SEUS.
