I wanna buy a new PC |

Manufacturers don't actually get paid for putting Windows on, they just buy it quite a bit cheaper in bulk which improves their profit margins. That's why we're starting to see an increase in Linux boxes lately, Vista is expensive and rather unpopular!
As for 'just being used to windows', yes I agree with that to an extent. Although many of the customers from my PC repair days wouldn't actually notice the difference between OS X, Windows and Linux. They'd just think it looks a bit different to how it was before...
And cool points? Awww, c'mon! It's a laptop for goodness sake!

You know it's true. A sad truth, though.
We have Apple's marketing genius to thank for that. They get into your head.

I had a little test on the OS X and I can tell I really like it.
As I said I will not use any of the PC-s for gaming. I just want quick browsing( i have great internet package but i can't use it's full potential on my present PC)
and I want as soon as I click on ANY installed software to open instantly. I will be using the PC for flashing and those sort of stuff
Also I will have windows installed on it TOO.
But on the other hand the other PC has QUAD CORE.
As for the ram i will put more ram on the laptop but i can't put quad core.
And i have an offer instead of X3100 to be with NVIDIA GeForce 9400M.

I run a 2.4GHz iMac with 2GB RAM with no problems. Everything is either instant, or takes 3-4 secs max. Which isn't too bad, because you watch the dock icon bounce while it's loading.

Rubbish in real terms unless you dual-boot windows. Same as WINE and the countless alternatives on Linux; everybody sings their praises but in real life they run very little windows software *properly*
Quad core processors and a healthy amount of ram are not slow no matter what OS you throw at them.
I'm no more a PC freak than Arien is a Mac fan boy, but let's be realistic: That PC has one hell of a specification for 700 Euros no matter which way you look at it!

My laptop is probably the kind of thing you sound like you need.
It's a AMD Athlon X2 1.8Ghz, 2GB RAM, 120GB HDD and a GeForce 7150M.
It cost me £280 in September and it's been lightning quick ever since then.
Internet Explorer loads (with 4 tabbed home pages) right away, as do most other programs. It'll play certain games very well too if you ever needed it to.
So you see, unlike crapple-mac's, PC's can be efficient AND cheap.
Oh yeah, and the best bit? It runs Windows Vista Home Premium perfectly, like a dream, no problems at all, so ner

Nowadays, not all that different really. From the user's perspective, anyway.
I found this in my bookmarks:

It's a bit out of date, but the differences it mentions are still largely there AFAIK.

Yeah, it is out of date. But the majority of the basic differences in functionality it mentions apply to Vista and Leopard too.

It's the chipset I think? Correct me if I'm wrong, but macs use a variety of custom-built motherboards don't they?
