guys, in topics like this, if you're going to bother giving a response at least give reasons for your choice!

your choice means nothing without a reason

As previously mentioned in this thread the N97 wasnt out in 2008 so how can it be the best phone of 2008?

My vote goes for my Blackberry Bold 9000. Great screen, easy to use and does all I need.

@ryan... sorry i just meant its the better looking phone and they sell it very well (advertising wise) coz we all know features wise it aint gonna win a prize... its just a very well built, desirable phone that works and works well.

@voda_jon i know i know, just pulling yer leg! Really interested to try a G1 but no-one i know has got one...they all have iPhone's

@masseur Ok, you're right, I will state my reasons for my choice:-

iPhone 3G:
Best UI i have used on a phone, and so user friendly.
The jailbreak community and themes/hacks/mods which keep me interested.
The device just looks slick all around really. There are many touchscreen phones on the market, but none that IMO look as physically appealing as the iPhone 3G
Thats all i can think of atm!

I think he was being sarcastic, but did put a '-' before the touchscreen, ie minus a touchscreen, toaster and projector

Showing your ignorance surely...
W715 wasn't even announced in 2008

My vote goes to the iPhone 3G.
The touchscreen is still streets ahead of any thing else.
It started the sequential text craze.
It's the best for multimedia.
It has the best Apps and Games.
You can't fault it's build quality.
It's styling is timeless.
No other phone generates as much interest from non-phone geeks.
It caused networks to take mobile data seriously.
And finally...
It makes my teenage son think I'm cool and you can't buy that sort of street cred from any other mobile manufacturer.

(Sometimes my son makes calls from my iPhone and the first thing he says to his mates is: "Hey XXXXXXX, I'm calling from an iPhone! Yeah really!...")
