Ive just read that Artex contains abestos is this right??!
my kitchen has it up the walls in patches but not the whole walls,
the ceilings have it and where the council have ripped something out ive got 2 squares missing in the corner probaly where a Kitchen cupboard used to be,
im not bothered about in on the ceiling tbh I just want it off the walls cos it looks minging, the previous tenant needs to be shot for placing that kak up the walls like that
I might buy a Chisel and hammer it off, or try my mates electric sander,
im not so keen on this now since abestos is in the stuff !

just had a word with my hubby and he says it depends on how old the Artex is as some of the older Artex does contain Asbestos but the newer stuff does'nt, you should get the council to check as by law if it does They have to remove it! not you
dont panic! hubby just told me its not dangerous if in Artex as its sealed in anyway...stupid hubby never explains himself till after the event lol

lol it looks like it's been there a long time alot longer than 1990 I think the house was built in the 50's or 60's.
I will contact the council about it it's mind worrying now
