Is the new g900 firmware faster? How fast is it compared to p1i? Have there any major bugs? or just minor bugs? |

On the phone front - i love my P1 & they are v. cheap now...
I went to do a comparison P1 and G900 on the SE site & no information for G900 can be found
Weird huh?

I had gadget loving techie friend who was just about to buy a new G900, I showed him all the stuff I had loaded on my P1 with the hacks and all the clever little programs and th business apps... He looked on ebay that night and bought himself a P1i including TomTom nav 6 with a GPS unit for £135 - I think that says it all really.
Maybe all the clever stuff works on the G900 as well? - I really don't know - I have absolutely no interest LOL - maybe the C905... - but never used either of them...
I would quite like the supposedly improved camera of the G900 - but at the end of the day although it's 5MP compared to 3.2 MP it's still only got a tiny little lens like all mobile phone cameras... The P1 camera is great to have on hand and gets something adequate in most situations with a reasonable amount of light available. The video is amazing for what it is - more than enough to post on the web for a forum viewing and suchlike... view the P1 photos rthread if the camera is important to you - as far as I can see it takes great shots in the right situations - some brilliant examples on there - mine hasn't suffered with green tinge worth mentioning - and the samples I've seen wouldn't bother me either - If you want perfect pictures you can get a digital SLR for less than £200
For me the P1 is good enough at everything and small enough to carry comfortably in my pocket that there isn't anything so far that I would rather have... I could possibly be convinced I'm not dedicated to SE products or UIQ3 - I don't care who makes the thing or what it runs on - but I do like the features, apps and style that the P1 has. I was disappointed that the screen was physically smaller than the P900 and P910, but it's worth it for the QWERTY keyboard...

I just got a P1i last week to upgrade from the P990i and it's fantastic. All hacks and mods in place, and running the candystripe theme from "Paris" it looks beautiful too.
No crashes so far and with the 16Mb M2 and sound mod lite it blows the socks off an ipod.
The G900 offers little advantage for the extra money. The screen is too small for touch and the casing is real cheap.
P1i all the way .... £179.99 brand new from Play.com

All I can say - P1 rocks.
In fact it's a great smartphone for a small price. Very small.
