Hi. I'm trying to choose to buy either one of the phones right now coz my phone's condition is not that very good anymore and i really need a new phone. I really want xperia but i think it's going to take 1 year for its price to decrease to half w/c is around 400usd. Can anyone help me choose between g900 or p1i. Which is better? tnx. |

P1i:
Pros: Cheaper, 2.6" display, half-QWERTY keyboard, Jog dial + back button on the side, dual LED, M2 slot is directly accessible
Cons: QWERTY feels weird for those who haven't used one before, 3.2MP camera, WiFi b only
G900:
Pros: Media center, D-pad + regular keypad combo helps in games, 5MP camera, 'pocketable', WiFi b/g, flash lite
Cons: More expensive, 2.4" display, texting is slower, no jog dial/back button combo, single LED, M2 slot is underneath the battery cover
Looks are subjective and both phones look great IMO.

The question is when will the nice g900 apps be imported to p1 like the camera interface, media center and stand by app? |

Yes. There is big difference. I think P1 is better. The WiFi isn't big issue.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand... Mediar's Site |

The P1i's screen does feel a bit bigger but you'll eventually get used to whatever you choose unless you use a couple of phones with varying screen sizes on a daily basis.
Here's a snap of the two screens side-by-side to give you a better idea:

The above image does not say all the truth,
My P1i has this bigger qwerty which is visible on G900 screen, not the smaller one visible above.

@doministry: Ever tried clicking on those arrow buttons next to the "done" button?
Does it really matter though? Typing out with the physical QWERTY is way faster than clicking on those small boxes.

For sure! Just wanted to point that P1 has a bit bigger qwerty... That's it.

Does anyone know when will the standby app of g900 will be imported to p1i? If there's no definite time yet, does anyone know maybe someone who's porting it? Does the cam mod of p1i have the camera interface of g900/g700? And another question, is the media center of g900 already been ported to p1i? tnx a bunch. |
