That doesn't sound unstable. Just normal really. The sharpness has been debated several times and it's lacking due to the over bearing noise reduction.
The dots are called orbs, which are caused ultimately by the flash being so close to the lens. You can read up on it on Wikipedia. It's common to all digital compacts.

I have the same problem. Just bought this expensive phone 10 days ago.
All of sudden the earpiece or the earphone is BROKEN without reason. I can't hear anything.

I am angry at SE.
Earpiece is broken on a flagship phone? It is untolerable.
A phone without an earpiece is just a rubbish.

I am going to a service centre tomorrow can anybody tell me what is likely to happen?

Free repair? send away to SE? get a new replacement?

What shop did you buy from?

If it's from Carphone Warehouse and it's under 28 days since you bought it, they'll replace it with a new one.

It was ebay but it's just under 30 days old

How does this go? surely they won't make me pay for a manufacturing defect?

geez even the c905 is having a few problems eh? i hope they're just early teething problems unlike the k850i.
Wats happening though? SE needs to get bak to basics with their reliability it seems

That's my C905 gone now.

Told no time on how long it will take to repair. It's now in the hands of a SE service centre.

Feel very disappointed after paying £400+ and having waited on this since July for it to break down. Noticed a few K850i's in the repair centre which is no surprise.

Whats going on I read recently that SonyEricsson was going to improve things on newer models in terms of reliability. All this sounds very familiar!!!!

I have read LED problems, scratches on keypad but the ear piece one is not on.

You pay good money for a phone you don't expect this. I have seen other forums full of posts on the ear piece fault.

I would not be surprised if more people have these issues as the months go on.

Not only ebay can make you pay for a manufacturing defect, it can even make you pay for a Chinese-made replica...

So how do I know it's real?

I got it from a UK seller plus it has all the faults people have with them on here.

If it was a replica it would probably not do a SE update. I got my K850i, K800i, K750i on ebay and they were perfect.

Got mine on ebay with a CPW receipt from seller, it is now being repaired through them and has been sent to SE for the same Earpiece problem(which is starting to seem a very, very common fault)............I have since purchased another C905 direct from CPW because my repair could take anything upto 28days.......And I can't be without one that long......
