Well this usually happens only when we mod the acoustics. Did the firmware update correct the prob?

I read on here the new firmware would make the battery better so I installed.
I did the 'over the air' update via Wi-fi and it took about 10 minutes and seemed to install. It's been from then it's been faulty.
I can't get new software or old on it now. Read in google there are other people with similar faults but i got it online so no doubt it will cost for a repair now. I'm thinking it's a software issue as you can record a call and it plays sound via the loudspeaker just not the ear piece part.

You may be able to fix it via flashing with totalgsm for e.g... If the issue is software related, you will fix it for sure.

Updated firmware over date cable still no use.
Tried the speaker test no sound played.
I rung SE and they said it could be software or the phone itself. Is it likely to cost to repair? I need to now go to a SE service centre
Not sure there's much else I can do.

The ear speaker failing early seems to be a common first fault on the C905, quite a few people have had it go on them. A friend at work had that happen within a week, he got his handset replaced under contract.

is it just me who get the feeling that c905 starting to be a "new" k850, (firmware issues, unstable camera performans) ?
i had some strange robot sound when i spoke to people, but that disappeared when i used SEUS, maybe thats connected to this problem to, i dont know. (try reflash with SEUS but this time with your USB cable and PC instead, it might work better)

The C905 doesn't have unstable camera performance at all. It's just not as good as people expected, but that doesnt make it unstable or buggy.
The ear piece is the only problem of note. Other problems people have had are slider wobble, which is common among sliders anyway, and some people have had the keypads scratched slightly by the slider mechanism.
I bought the K850i on day one, and knew within three days and several software crashes, freezes and failures, it was unreliable. The C905 I have has been perfect thus far, totally rock solid.

When your phone breaks, they just replace it???
I have to return it to shop and they must then send it to a repairshop. After god knows how many days they ether replace it, have fixed it or simply telling costumers that its their own fault its broke.
Once i got my phone replaced with a new one, so i thougt, it contained textmessages pictures etc.... |

I can confirm my C905 has the scratched keypad, wobbly slider and now this fault. I have also had issues with Wi-fi disconnects from any network outside the home and never managed to use it.
You would think they would have learned from the K850i which broke down on me and I had to sell it faulty and switch to Samsung. I don't get it the C902 is reportedly buggy seems everything after the K750i/K800i have been dud.
I don't get it as SE phones are great the last thing I expected to go wrong was "the phone part". This technology is 20 years old you would think tried and tested.
The phone should never have been released if these major manufacturing defects exist that's why the K850i has been pulled from the shelves and shops still stock the classic K800i.
Anyway where do I stand I got this online will they give me a replacement at a SE service centre or repair it free/or change? Anybody had any past experience with these issues?

@marty mcfly, i disagree here. my c905 behaved weird from day one and after I used SEUS (who only solved the robot sound), I still had unstable camera, Wifi worked just sometimes, (and small scratches on the keypad, cant really tell how they came)
edit. @se80, i think you might be right. Sonyericsson should tested c905 some more months to avoid this problems, then released it.

@ mart
They replaced it because it is insured under his contract.

Please define unstable camera? It stops working, crashes? I'll be honest, I've not heard anyone on this site complain of the C905 being as faulty as yours. You perhaps just got a bad one. They can't all be perfect, nature of mass production.

I understand that, but they dont question if its correct, no sending it to repair. Cause if mine is broke a get a new for free but it still needs to be checked |
